Software to sell leads????

Hope this is the right area to ask in. I did some searching but didn't find a solution.

Anyone know if this beast exists?

I'm building some websites to generate local leads for businesses like construction, lending, IT services, insurance, etc.

I'd like to have something like ServiceMagic, but on a much smaller scale. Lead purchasers could look at the leads (sans contact info of course) and make a decision to buy based upon the compatibility.

They would then be able to purchase the lead and pay via PayPal. Or maybe an auction system to push up prices?

You would probably want your leads in some sort of management platform, like SugarCRM or CreamCRM. Most places that sell leads provide their own reporting "upon request," e.g. when a potential buyer fills out your contact form. A good CRM should let you build reports on whatever data you store for each lead in the CRM so you can send it directly to the potential buyer, and make sure that when you're ready to export them and send them to the client, the data is accurate.

As far as the shopping cart, you'd probably be best off with Joomla. Tons of plugins for shopping carts, auction modules, even SugarCRM integration modules. Plus, finding a developer on rentacoder or similar would be cheap and easy, since it's Joomla is so popular and freely available. Most of the framework is there for you. Hell, you might even be able to use just Joomla and one of the CRM modules without having to use Sugar or Cream.

That would be OK at the start, but I want it automated as much as I can.

Here's the process I see (possibly quite wrong since I don't program)
1) The original contact form data is stored in MySQL.

2) One of the fields indicates the category (lending, IT, Insurance, etc)

3) A script pulls SOME of the data (no contact info) and presents it on an html page that is PW protected and specific to the category

4) The vendor can then skim through that page and buy (or maybe bid) on the leads they want.

5) They pay via PayPal either now or before deciding, depending on their status in the past.

5a) Price can vary according to some preset conditions like quantity they bought in the past, or quality of lead.

6) Then they can print the FULL Lead and have it E-mailed to them.

7) Lead is marked inactive or maybe moved to another DB for future marketing.

If there is a decent off-the-shelf product I'd like to look at it before I rentacoder.
