Trying to Monetize FB pages as a Newbie Here...

First my situation. I have one big FB page with 535K likes which has been around since 2011. The niche is "funny", so the content is funny pics, funny videos, funny articles, satire, funny or weird products, funny quotes, quizzes, riddles, puzzles, jokes, funny lists, etc. A couple months ago, reach was around 6 million. Now, thanks to Facebook's recent "friends and family first" stuff the reach has dropped to just over a million per week. The main page like demographic is Women (77%), age group 45-54 (21%, 2nd biggest group is 35-44 (20%) and mobile devices (73%) is the main usage device.

Page likes are at about 8200 a week. Post engagement 522K

I started monetizing the page a few months ago and have tried multiple things some of which I got the ideas for from here and some of which I tried and learned through experimentation. I have tried many of the affiliates (dangerous I know, but I need the money and so far the website is not doing much) like mylikes skylikes etc. I have tried posting more and posting less. Currently, I post 2 times an hour, one of content, one a link to one of three of the evil affiliates (mylikes, lolspots, FEED 89, and TRV). The changes to the reach of Facebook has shook things up with some days good and some bad on each, so unless it becomes more stable, I have to use all four and divide the posts up with 6 for each per day.

The content posts are pictures, albums, shares, Amazon funny products, likebait pics, and links back to my website where the post starts a joke, list, puzzle, or riddle and they have to check out the page on the website for the answer or rest of the joke. Also using quizzes (1 a day) and Rumble video on the website and post a couple video links in the content per day.

I also have 3 smaller pages with similar themes but about slightly other niches I share to the main page to try and grow them. On the website I am using a wordpress plugin to pull every Facebook post from ALL the pages to the website so people can go there for the content also (also have a Google play app available for the main page). On the website I have mainly used adsense, rumble, A4G, Chitika, Media.net. The only one making anything though it seems is adsense, but it is only a few dollars per day. I really need to change things up on the website if I am ever going to be able to make the switch from the affiliates to website ads of my own. Hopefully, that is what this journey can be all about, because I know as long as I am having to use the affiliates thru FB I daily run the risk of the page being taken down.

I will try to post daily what changes I am trying on things, what the money is looking like, the likes, reach, etc. Any questions I will try to answer in my daily posts if I can't get to them individually. Any veteran recommendations are EXTREMELY encouraged obviously. My next post in a few minutes will be the first real status update from the last couple of post-reach-screwing around by FB...

Okay, over the last few days, total money made through adsense and the 4 affiliates has been averaging around $60 Mylikes is down, TRV is WAY down for me, lolspots and FEED 8 slightly higher than they were. TRV was so far down (8, 10, and 11 dollars the last 3 days) I decided to postpone TRV for today and post 12 from lolspots. Will see how that goes. Adsense stays around 4-5 dollars lately. So far, all other ads on the website negligible. Will have to find something I can put alongside adsense that can do something. Rumble has been more about having video content than making anything, as it is like 20 cents per day, yuck.

I tried a like hacker from here a little over a week ago and got a boost to the smaller pages which are at 3500, 1800, and 1300 likes.

Working on a wordpress plugin to try and do funny items for sale through Amazon. Maybe having categories there will do better than having individual affiliate amazon links posted. We'll see. Will try to see any questions for info I can post which I may have left out on my start of this. Thanks to anyone following along. Wish me luck, I NEED IT

Okay then, well anyways, yesterday was bad... total made for the day was $53.72. Worst day in weeks. All numbers look down, at only 7900 likes for the week, 945K post reach, 113K post engagement. Total likes now at 535K roughly, or will go over that today. Had turned the like jacker down to 80%, going to go up to 90% today, doubt it will help this freefall though...

On a good note, numbers already look overall better today. I turned a few links on for TRV late last night, but with like 3 links it made a TOTAL of 68 cents... So TRV is done for the moment. I think today I am going to try 3 posts an hour for about half the day. The numbers so far I mentioned are better ($21.53 at 8AM), but mainly because FEED89 is already at $12.27, which was more than all day yesterday. Going to turn lolspots and FEED 89 on to post every other hour. Each have a auto-posting queue so I will then take mylikes and sprinkle some of them in there today for the hours 3 links go up. I know it increases the danger, but I am desperate here until I can figure out ways to make the website numbers work. Plus today is the last day I can make anything and get paid on Friday. On the mylikes links today I am going to try adding a question in the caption area of each to try to spark some engagement.

Instead of using those networks, you would be better off creating your own website and learning how to monetize it. It will be safer and your followers will learn to trust it and will click it more (not all of them of course) and when you've taken them away from FB, you'll be able to show them whatever you want as far as monetization goes.

Instead of uploading your images and videos to Facebook, upload them to your website (or to your youtube channel) and share the links.

Didn't say anything about hackers, so I am not sure what you are referring to... As for my question, I was just expecting question from about the journey. And make no mistake about it, I in NO way have the whole thing figured out or I would be making some real money. That is what this journey is about.

Did you read the beginning? In a perfect World, yes; this journey would be perfect if I could move everything to my own website and change from using those networks to my website. But as I mentioned previously, the website is not making any real money yet despite my efforts. This journey will hopefully see that change however. I do post video to the website, I even use Rumble, but they pay pennies compared to everyone else. I saw some people using ads from places like thechive.com but have no idea how to apply to be an affiliate for them.

Are you using a FB like jacker to get your likes? I think in your first post you made a spelling error and typed hacker maybe. What is your opinion of the like jacker, I'm thinking of getting it one day if I ever need it. Your page seems huge already. How much traffic do you send out every day and every post?

Thank you!! Yes indeed, I meant to say "like jacker" not "hacker". That changed the whole context didn't it? I used "Like Jacking Ninja" which I found here on these forums. The results have been pretty good! They would be better I am sure if I was getting more traffic from somewhere other than Facebook where people that already like my page would be coming from. But it helps the smaller pages, which is mainly what I wanted. I had to limit the percentage of visits the first week to about 70% of them being jacked because the smaller pages jumped a bit in the beginning, then went to 80%. I have had them jump a day here or there thanks to a shared post or two on the big pages, but was worried it might be too noticeable with it being every day.

Well for a page of over half a million people, my reach and engagement are way too low, part of that is Facebook's changes, but part of that is probably going from all content ON Facebook to most content redirected through the affiliates and the website.

As for today likes are down to 7784 over the last week, Reach 928,208, and post engagement 112,207. I turned the like jacker back up to 90%, but no impact on the main page, all the smaller pages are up though.

Over all yesterday the results were positive for replacing TRV (AND mylikes) with just lolspots and FEED98. I posted a couple of links to mylikes and TRV but the numbers for those two are way down, and at least for my page, far from recovering from the Facebook smackdown on reach. Yesterday was $72 with almost $30 from lolspots and about $20 from FEED98. Adsense at $5, TRV and mylikes combined were less than $20, but had less links too.

Today I am going to JUST use lolspots and FEED98 and have each post every 2 hours. I may use some mylikes or TRV on the smaller pages because those don't care what the size of the page is while lolspots and FEED98 have page requirements of a certain number of likes. Also joined some groups talking about "trains"... still not sure exactly what those are but will have to research to see if they might help. Also today, on the website, I am going to use a new plugin called "WooZone" which supposedly will make all of the Amazon Affiliate links work smooth and will automatically pull niche stuff into the website. Will see how it does...

Still looking for ideas to drum up the website more, at the moment the short term goal is to have this page make money in whatever way it can; the long term goal is to have it make money and have that money ALL come from the website instead of the affiliates. Suggestions and help are always welcomed!

P.S. Anyone heard of Userwave? I got a message from them about being a LA based influence Content Network and "wanting to work with me". I am suspicious as I found no reviews online and no mention of them here on the forums. Are they just another mylikes clone, a scam, or something else?

It's tough to monetize FB. Build solid backlinks and a website around it and you'll see the numbers increase.

I have an FB fanpage with almost 1 million likes now. Last year I could make $100 a day with Mylikes with very little effort.
Today, after all the FB algorythm changes I am lucky to make $5 a day.

dude, forget WOOZONE. You will regret. I am a long time user. Every single update has new errors and will break your site.
Recent error is that visitors are being redirected to amazon but not the cart/products. So there can be no sales made. And the support is ridiculous. The whole team is on holiday and they shut down the whole support site, ticket system and even knowledge base. The support is useless to begin with.
