Hi, I started blogging last 2 weeks and I checked my page speed with GT Metrix And I scored 88 and Yslow 77

What could be wrong?
I have W3 total cache and Cloudflare for my name servers Domain.

Optimise your images by using WP Smush. Do not show many posts on your homepage.

Minify your script codes to improve your page load time and also speed up your most viewed pages.

You can remove some unwanted/unused plugins that will help your page speed.

Mobile optimization also the key to increasing the speed of your blog.

Another thing is you might want to check if you enabled any other plugins. Different plugins can cause slow downs.

Thanks for the tips. But I heard the best practices is showing new posts on homepage and not a static page?

just input for you..
- Choose good server ( VPS with nginx, mariadb, hhvm or php7 )
- Don't add unused plugin
- Check on pingdoom which link make your site slow

Thanks all. I have enough articles to do the trick

Changing host can also help sometimes. I have seen 1000's of sites hosted on same server which can lead to slow load times. Check your IP to see the other sites on the IP/Server.

Yes, showing hot and new posts will give you more impressions than the number of older posts on your homepage.

The hard reality is that sometimes it's not really possible to make a WP site as fast as you'd like it to be without upgrading your server or having a developer rework the backend to suit your needs more directly. Versatile CMSs like WP just have to many features and all of them conume resources, so it's not a system that can be optimized indefinitely without gutting it from the inside, but that's not a perfect solution either.

Updating the contents and increase your page speed it is the way to speed up your blog site.
Analyse the backlinks and remove the low traffic links.
