Keep your site light by using less coding and more caching.

1. Keep your scripts minimal (Less widgets, Plugins, javascripts, codes etc).
2. Use a good caching plugin ( I use WP-Rocket and it works better than all I ever tried).
3. Make sure your hosting is right for you. Some hosting are faster than others.
4. Clean up your database; Optimize and delete Orphan Tables.

Optimize your site data.
Compress the image
Diagnose your Plugins
Diable Hotlinking
Disable pingbacks and trackbacks
Put the Css on the top and Js at the bottom.
 
You should also check your site in Google Pagespeed. Run it through that and it will tell you a lot of speed improvements factors that Google itself is looking for.
 
Don't use the unused plugins remove it in your site and try to avoid the high quality image. Because it affects the loading speed and it takes more time for it.
Try to avoid the flash contents in your site and also try to simplify your coding in HTML.
 
Plugins and scripts that you use too much, and it would all work service hosting.

Especially if you use a great script for your website site.

Use only as needed plugin
