How do you handle approaching companies to sell ads/promotion?

My main account is closing in on 100k and I'm starting to look at contacting businesses to sell advertising to them. But I notice I struggle with how to approach them professionally and effectively.

I specialize in this.. Shoot me a message on Kik I'd be happy to give you a hand.

Have you tried famebit website , It can help you if you are getting good impression from that account.

First, you're not advertising companies on Instagram. You're helping companies find customers from Instagram.

Second, explain to them exactly how the service works and how it benefits them.

Third, state a high, dummy price (per day/impression) but that you're giving the first 10 businesses (of which half the spots are already taken) to sign on a 25% or 50% "Early Bird" discount. Be sure this price isn't something they can flinch at by making it cheap compared their average revenue per customer or what they're paying for other forms of marketing.

Fourth, ask for a follow up date.

Fifth, keep doing follow ups until they either say yes or distinctintly tell you to fuck off.

At least, this is my plan. I just started it this week. :D

Can you type out an example of how that e-mail would look?
Pretend you're a 250k freerunning page approaching a shoe company.

Write them a partnership/sponsorhip agreement. What you can offer them and what you want from them.

That's not what I mean, what is mean is how to APPROACH them in the first place

Greetings [Name Here],

My name is @imGrej. I'm an Instagram Marketer who owns @KickassFreerunning and I help producers of athletic sportswear raise awareness of their products and find customers via Instagram.

We will craft a brand identity for you through the use of evocative images of your products and relevant quotes/taglines to arouse feelings of inspiration, which shall be associated with your company. You will have your products and messages displayed to over 250,000 Instagram users who are fitness enthusiasts from/in [insert geographic location] and visit our page daily for inspiration.

This service will be priced at $20 per Instagram post, but we're currently having "Footwear Frenzy" discount where we'll offer 50% off for the first 3 footwear brands to sign with us. This means you can take advantage of our services at $10 per Instagram post!

Our current packages are:
  • 10 Instagram Posts: $100
  • 30 Instagram Posts: $250
  • 50 Instagram Posts: $400
  • 100 Instagram Posts: $750
(If the company prices its shoes at $100 each and sells 500 per month, then paying the selling price of 1-8 shoes for some additional promotion won't make them flinch.)

Would you be interested in signing on?

If you need time to decide, when would you like us to follow up?

Best Regards,

Well first of all find their email that accepts those kind of messages then get to writing similar to above.

  • State who you are,
  • What you do,
  • Why you are writing to them,
  • What you can offer them(ot vice versa, what you want and what you can offer)
  • What you want to get in exchange
  • And follow up and ask if they are interested and that you would like to hear a response..
This is of course a formal letter as you are writing to a company, so you should probably polish your formal letter writing skills.

Thanks for all the comments that is very helpful. Iwas also wondering how to do that.

I think these prices are very very low. If you're reaching out to BIG brands (I'm talking nike / asics / mizuno from our running shoe example) they'll laugh at $10 per post. These are brands with $50 million+ advertising budgets. They usually hire firms for hundreds of thousands just to select influencers - then have to pay the influences themselves. Instead of approaching them with a "per post" price, I would suggest approaching them for a time based contract. Say 6 months for 50k or something like that. Then explain that during the 6 months you would post x amount of times generating X impressions daily / monthly / over the contract. $10 dollars a post is laughable to one of these big companies and would give you very little legitimacy.

Now that whole argument hinges on the size of brand you're approaching. If you're looking at small brands with no marketing budget, then I think you're plan could work. But I still think $10 per post is insanely low. How many 100k accounts with quality engagement do you know giving out $10 permanent shout outs? Not many...

You definitely have a fair point with the time based contracts.

My page it at 70K (biggest page in niche is 500k) and just got my first "serious" promotion dela with a big brand in my niche.
Thankfully they were the ones who contacted me with the offer of products + paid promotion.

I've accepted the deal but no prices have been mentioned, would anyone with experience like to help me out with pricing?
