I recently analysed top 1 million website by alexa rank and found rarely fancy domains or you can say non common rank where found in top 1 million site.

So does this mean ranking fancy TLDs like .guru, .digital, .pub, etc are difficult to rank? Do google considers domain extension in ranking?

I do not think the tld is a factor until and unless you are trying to rank for a certain locale.

Vivek Bhai,

TLD doesn't matter, it was said by matt cutts itself but if the TLD is like .gov or .edu then it might matter

Google doesn't consider domain extension for ranking.
It just looks for good content.
If you have good content at your site you will get good ranking.
TLD doesn't a problem here.

I think domain extension matters in Google.
If your domain extension different from others with good content surely it will rank well.

I don't think it matters. Just make sure your website is SEO optimized.

Domain tld should not matter, but whether it does matter is a different thing altogether. Its always best to go for old established tlds for quicker, if not always better rankings.
