They are very different. The alive checker is checking header and GET requests to see if page responds or is alive.

The vanity checker can help generate lists of urls for given platforms or work with loaded lists, but its not looking for an alive or dead status necessarily. Its looking to see if a page meets X criteria and you can build in and customize that critera.

So the vanity checker applies a check to see if various criteria is met and gives a qualified answer based on 1 or multiple criteria. The alive checker is just telling you if the page is alive or dead.

Ok I think I'm following you... So if I am scraping and trying to re-register expired web 2.0s, would the alive checker be enough (try to re-register the 404 'dead' pages; or would you suggest using vanity name checker? I saw your tutorial on adding other platforms to VNC which is awesome, I just want to clarify before spending many hours adding numerous platforms to VNC when alive checker could potentially perform what I'm looking to do. Thanks!

Hey there,

I thought I would let you know that I have been living under a rock for the last 3 years. I'm OK though. I really am. I am a bit flat after all this time, but maybe the compression was enough to make sooooo thin, I was able to slip-out from under the crushing weight and make a purchase of ScrapeBox. I feel better...I really do...

Lol...

thanks for making such a great tool and keeping it up to date. =)

Hello Sweetfunny and loopline.
I am facing a small issue with link checker addon. Yesterday I provided a list of 150k urls and started to extract internal links with 200 connections. After few hours when I logged back into my VPS, the addon window was closed (scrapebox main window was open). I checked the addon data folder and found a semi processed links file. I assume that at some point link checker addon crashed.
Any pointers on how to fix this?

I know this is not a scrapebox support thread, but felt like asking here as BHW has been a home for all of us since long. :)

Yes the addon would have had to crash. If you go into your scrapebox folder >> addons folder >> link extractor folder - there should be a bugreport.txt file. If you can send that to support they can help you, or if you open it and the exception is really basic like "out of memory" etc... then just post it here. If its an access violation then support will likley need to look at it.

Its hard to guess what it could have been so really the bugreport is key, but if I was going to test I would try less connections, like 100 or 50 and try to split the list into like 50K or 25K and try it. As its potentially likely it ran out of resources and crashed.

Well since the vanity checker was built 100% for what you want to do, I would use it. If the alive checker was good enough, they wouldn't have built the vanity checker. some platforms are not just cut and dry with a 404.

I am from india. i have no credit card
unable to pay using paypal. how to pay?

Paypal is the only payment processor scrapebox accepts. So if you can't pay via paypal or a credit card via paypal then you can find a friend that has a paypal account or can buy it for you. Then after they purchase it, and Before you activate it mail support (at] scrapebox [dot) com
and tell them you had a friend buy it, give them the name it was purchased under, the email address it was purchased with and the transaction/receipt ID. Then also give them your name and your email and support will transfer the license into your name.

The important thing to remember is that you do this Before you activate the license, else once a license is activated the details can't be changed.

It's been years since I last bought and used Scrapebox. I don't know how to use it anymore. lol. Any links for the latest and thorough tutorials would be highly appreciated.

Just click on the buy link at the bottom of scrapebox.com/bhw and enter in whatever it asks for. Then once its activated you can buy the article scraper from in the app.

Or you can use the bundle.

I think if you buy it out right it would be $67 for Sbox plus $20 for the article plugin for a total of $87.

Here

You can get the article plugin, rank tracker, automator plugin and Sbox for only $99.

You don''t "have" to use proxies, but you may wan to use 1 connection and some platforms may need a delay. Proxies just give you more ips so you can go faster. None of the platforms are google based except blogger, but I don't think it has the same ip bans. So you wouldn't need google passed proxies.

How is the vanity name checker working? Fully operational?

Yes it works fine. What platform are you using? I know that one of them, I think tumblr, had changed their formatting. So the definition file just needed updated.

I know support was going to do that in the next udpate, but Ive lost track of if that went live or not. You can update it your self.

Yes. Scrapebox is fully Unicode and UTF-8 compliant so it can support basically any language from around the world.

Further you can add the Italian google into the keyword scraper and harvester etc...

Has anyone figured out an ideal way to use the Google Competition Finder addon to NOT get banned so quickly?

I find using one proxy at a time works the best, but even this way you will get banned after a few hundred URLs.

I have already asked for an enhancement request that hopefully will be implemented where it will use one proxy at a time, only switching when 503 errors start. Until then however, I am wondering if anyone has found a way around this problem.

Thank you!
Is there a free version where I can try it before buy it?

There is no free/trial version and there are no refunds. However Scrapebox is easily worth 6 times the price and you can read all the reviews here as well as watch all the videos to understand if it will do what you want.

Sure, slow down. Just use a sufficient delay and you should be fine. Here is a video in concept:

I recently picked up scrapebox primarily for finding expired web 2.0s and the tool has made this very easy for me to do. I am a huge fan of how much support and information there is available.

I have a question for anyone who might have experienced this lately: I ran a few scrapes and ended up with about 30 PA plus weebly and tumblrs on my first test.

All subsequent scrapes have yielded a good number of expired 2.0s. However all of them show a PA and DA of 1.

I thought this was odd and went back and checked the ones from my first scrape and they all now show a PA and DA of 1.

I've rechecked them with different APIs, directly through open site explorer and bulk check tools. All yield the same result.

Anyone experience this lately?

Yes, everyone has experienced this lately, there's a couple of recent threads on it in other sections of the forum if you look. Moz appears to have permanently or temporarily banned data retrieval of every single web 2.0 blog platform that anyone would want to check using scrapebox and other bulk checking tools. A few web 2.0s can still have their metrics retrieved such as twitter, and that is probably because twitter now requires SMS verification for each signup which discourages mass scraping and mass PA retrieval. Blogspot, weebly, tumblr, Over-blog, typepad and most of the platforms in the vanity name checker addon will give you a PA and DA of 1.

At first I thought it was their fancy firewall intercepting these requests and sending back a null response but then I logged into a premium account and even there, each one of those web 2.0s is banned.
