Moving to europe advise.

Come to Bulgaria. The government doesn't care for you a lot, so you won't be troubled. 10% flat tax rate. Everything is cheap, the wages are lower, but you get a decent payment as a software developer and there is a need of these people. Dollars are doubled here so if you make online income, you will live well. Local crime isn't much, only mafia. Food is cheap, transport is cheap, everything is beautiful.

If you'd like more info, pm me ;)

Yeah, but then if he went there he would live in bulgaria...

want to do online or offline advertising? what are you currently making?

If it has to be Europe then I recommend Switzerland, otherwise New Zealand.

You can travel freely between all the Schengen areas, as grant1970ed already said. Europe is safer than South America across the board, and you're not missing out on much by not being able to get into the non-Schengen countries.

I did a bit of looking up for you, because I'm currently planning on leaving the UK for Europe myself. I've settled on Rotterdam, Netherlands, because it's cheaper than every city in the UK and there is hookers, blow and a badass skyline. I've heard they've recently cracked down on state benefits though, so it may be a struggle as an immediate place to land. On the subject of general fun, if you're into your guns and hookers rather than pot and prostitutes then make a beeline to Prague, the Czech Republic has the most lax gun laws in the whole of the EU!

You're probably going to want some state benefits when you arrive, otherwise you're going to end up on the streets which could be worse than where you are now. France and Belgium spend a fortune on their welfare, with the cheapest city of the two countries being Lyon, France. The French are in a constant state of existential angst at losing the Battle of Waterloo and the lingua franca being English so you'll probably be pushed more to learning the national language than other countries. After those two Portugal is just as good as anywhere, % of GDP wise. However, most of Europe is a large, slow and unwieldy bureaucratic system, so it can take time to get housing and even unemployment benefits.

Your best bet is going to be getting to your family in Portugal and working an IT job until you can leave for the country of your choice.

source: I cobbled together loads of stuff from my brain and wikipedia, so it's totally legit.

Whatever you do... DO NOT MOVE TO IRELAND.
You will end up killing yourself and get vitamin D defiency...

I was looking to move to panama

I have been to a lot of countries in both Western and the Eastern Europe, and frankly, I liked Portugal the most.

May be it is cause I like surfing and it offered the ideal spot, or may be its the atmosphere, I dont know. All I know is that if I had Portugese passport, Portugal would be the obvious choice.

lol what? No european country has such high crime or low minimum wage.

Eastern Europe is a good option. Cheap and safe with good internet.

you are right about the good internet in eastern europe, my free apartment complex internet in bulgaria is 70X times faster than my previous ?50 / month internet back in ireland.

OP if you are not looking for work in that country and earning from IM i would reccomend living in portugal or bulgaria. iv lived in both in last few years.. they are both so cheap, beautiful , great climate. if your IM earnings fail though you'll probably really struggle to get a job in either country, and both minimum wages are crazy low.

haha i can vouch for this... I left ireland 3 years ago now and havent looked back ;)

I am from EU. If your full time job is IM think East or North Europe since life is little cheaper then than rest Europe.

Bulgaria, Serbia would be a good night IMO.

This was funny af

Haha, what I mean it that local crimes are rare. Random people, gypsies and immigrants won't stab you to death in major cities. The problem is the corrupted government, which can't affect you if you are working in the IM industry.

Bulgaria is not a bad place at all Fishkin. Dunno where you are from but it's very beautiful and in the past few years the economic is moving forward in my city and the capital. You can easily build business here and the only problem is the corruption. Which is nice if you build a company given the fact that it would be easier. Corruption won't be a problem for you if you're not connected with the mafia somehow.

Wow i never knew Venezuela is such a bad country. In Europe few years ago many romantic/soap show from Venezuela were popular, we always were saying how South Americans got hottest girls haha.

The obvious one for you would be Spain given you do not have to adjust to another language. While Portuguese seems similar not sure if you speak it so Portugal itself may be an issue. While I am sure you won't be having a problem getting around in most EU countries if you speak English, you definitely should know the local language for the Job market (if you need to get one).

First think of it this way:
- Do you have saving?
- Will you need a job or do you have stable online income?

Then you can think which countries are even feasible for you to get started in.

You forgot the fact that OP posted because he has a Portuguese passport and thus probably asking about EU countries. The chance of him getting to Switzerland (non-EU as smart move from them) are next to none and probably the same for other very selective countries

Yep Venezuela sucks for living with all the corruption. Biggest oil reserves in the world but yet with the tumbling price of crude and all the currency control the country just sucks from everyone I spoke to from there so far.

I moved from Australia to London.

London is full of opportunities. I got offered three jobs within a month and two of them were on the same day. Accomodation is hard to find and extremely expensive, but the wages are higher.

If you can afford to put yourself up for a couple of months while you get your feet on the ground, I'd suggest coming to London.

In europe the cheapest is Serbia or Bosnia, crime rate is low, you can have stable internet and leave peacefuly without problems you mentioned. But to find job here is impossible, its good when you earn online btw

And the best thing is that you don't need to pay tax from your online earnings. I mean by law you should pay 10% (Bosnia), but no one pays it.

Guess what I read couple of days ago! In the near future the banks will be forced by the law to give all your income data to tax service at the end of each year, can't remember where I read it, perhaps on Klix... I hope it's not true.

Basically, that's pretty much the same here. You might want to pay if you make more than 5,000$ a month from IM. Most people working in financial institutions will laugh at you if you go and say that you'd like to pay tax on AdSense

So the financial institutions are openly encouraging tax evasion in Bulgaria? I find that really hard to believe.
