Cloaking questions from a beginner

Hi BHW,

I've been looking into starting to promote clickbank products through paid FB advertising, but have a few questions regarding cloaking.

1. Where and when exactly does the cloaking happen?
- If I'm trying to cloak to prevent stealing of sales, when is the site cloaked?
For example:
user clicks on Ad in FB --> goes to landing page --> clicks through link on landing page --> goes to affiliate offer page

Where is the cloaking going on? How do I cloak if the final affiliate offer page has my clickbank ID in the URL?

2. Will a free cloaker work well for this purpose? I've found a few through searching the forums and google, but question the efficacy of them.

I am new too, but I think there are two ways you can cloak.

1. use a shortener for your link
2. use a meta refresh on the landing page that redirects to your link

I think I figured some stuff out. From what I've read, you can't actually end up hiding the clickbank ID in the URL once the user gets through to that page. You can cloak the link, but the end result will have that ID. Although apparently cloaking the initial link works well.

Any additional input from more knowledgeable people would help!

Can't PM you however if you are only looking at FB cloaking then I may have a solution for you, skype me, "trackfwd"
