Ask me anything about dropshipping on ebay

Wow 5000, thats a huge amount to monitor, do you use your own software to monitor prices, because i use Priceyak and 5000 would cost a fortune in fees. So what percentage do you expect to sell per day, 1%?

About 5k, but I cull all the non sellers before they renew.

Nice, i'm aiming for 7500 within 6 months.

May I ask how you determine non sellers for such a large number? Do you create a report using the API?

You hardly cull all the non sellers since it's a percentage game and they may sell in the future?

I'm planning on taking a moving average of sales over, say, 3 months and also the viewing numbers. So if the viewing numbers are really low (below a benchmark say) then I remove immediately.

But, if the viewing numbers are good but the item sells badly on average over 3 months then I will remove.

What do you think?

EDIT :: But to be honest, I will only start that when I have a steady stock of listings that I can replace the removed ones with.

What about profitspy arbitrage what do you think of them? Any better than the rest out there?

Well I've just had to cull nearly all my listings (24,000) because I realised I have been uploading some bad ones (description not fully there, or pic url) after editing the csv in excel.

But I left all the ones up which sold 1 or more.

It's really easy guys, use your brain.

1. Go to the eBay File Exchange and request Active listings (under Download Files). This may take a couple of hours or is really quick, just depends.

2. Once you download that file. Go into excel and use the filter on the purchases column. I selected only 0 purchases, deselecting all the others.

3. Then copy all the item numbers into a file exchange csv file to end those listings, and upload it to file exchange.

Tip: Create a folder on your computer with file exchange templates you have successfully figured out, so you can quicky edit them.

I'll give you the exact answer for ending listing via file exchange.

You need 3 columns and the headers in order should be.

Action(SiteID=UK|Country=GB|Currency=GBP|Version=745)

ItemID

EndCode

Note the first column header is for the UK site. You'll have to figure out the US site yourself, which is easier I think, because it took me ages to find the UK version of that header, but from what I remember there were a lot of examples of the US site on the eBay forums.

Now under the first column, put End in every single cell below it.
The second column is obvious, put your item numbers in there (the ones you got from the active listings spreadsheet that you want to end).
For the third column, put NotAvailable in every cell.

Simple. Just remember when working with eBay item numbers, that excel will open them funny. So highlight the column and format it as a number format with 0 decimal places.

If it's not working, google ebay forums and read the ebay documentation.

Also the best way to figure if something goes wrong, is go to the file exchange (after it's uploaded and failed to work), go to View Upload Results, and download the Results Report. It will tell you Success or Failure in the report, and give you an error code and message if it's a failure. Once again use Excel filter to easier see where there are any failures or successes.

HOW CAN I PROVE THAT I HAVE SENT EACH AND EVERY THING TO EBAY? OR TRADESEY?
Hey there BHW-ers!

I've noticed that the level of interest towards the eBay side of BHW has piqued within the last week or so. Some of you are just now getting your feet wet, whereas others are trying to figure out how to turn this thing into a full time xx,xxx/m income.

I've spent A-LOT of time successfully drop shipping on eBay and would be more than happy to answer any questions you might have

Cheers,
Zach

funny thing happened today. i get 2 orders for an item that's out of stock on amazon(slipped through the cracks before my program could disable the listing). turns out both orders were placed by another dropshipper to different addresses. so naturally i just forwarded those orders to another dropshipper who also didn't take down his listing in time.

we're basically playing hot potato with these unfulfillable orders lol. i wonder how long these chains get...

LMAO, this is hilarious!

Does a PayPal dispute somehow affect your eBay rankings and sales? I was selling consistently every day until I got a PayPal dispute that is still unresolved. Since then, my sales have dropped.

The dispute is nothing to do with me, as it was someone using someone elses PP account to order stuff from my eBay store..

Anybody know how to contact Priceyak?
I have a problem but they take forever to answer a support ticket, very frustrating.

Are you using PriceYak to automate updating your ebay listings? Or what software are you using instead of manually updating each listing yourself?

i already opened a post but i guess here is the right place ....

i am an ebay seller and currently working on getting more feedbacks to my account
i am planning to start dropship in few weeks and i am afraid that i will get negative feedbacks from a dissapointed customer that received amazon gift package and also noticed that i had some profit...

i already searched on feedback profiles of amazon to ebay dropshippers and it's very rare that customer mention amazon in their negative feedback
it will be great if someone can share what they are doing to prevent this issue.

another thing
i read at the first page that i should not make my order from amazon using the gift option , can someone explain? i should not doing it at all? what about the invoice?

I'm using a price monitor software that doesn't take down the listing if the item goes out of stock. Instead, it like quadruples the price of the item to discourage anyone from buying it. It works like a charm. And just before Christmas someone bought an out of stock item from me for four times the price. And since I'm no dummy, I sourced that same product from another online retailer and pocketed that nice profit ha ha :)

Amazon stopped shipping paper invoices a couple years back in order to save on shipping costs. They send an e-invoice to the email you created your account with

Absolutely brilliant! We'll have to add this to our playbook :)

the odds of someone buying your overpriced item are insignificant. all that accomplishes is to quickly reduce your dollar selling limits. i have the out of stock option enabled and set inventory to 0 instead, effectively hiding that item from search. also for any full month where a listing has 0 quantity, ebay will refund your listing fee at the end of the month
