What is the next big Cryptocurrency?

I'm really looking into Cryptocurrency lately and I would like to know if anyone can give me some insights about what will be the next big hit?I know I could google it but it would be nice to have a conversation instead!

I would really appreciate it if someone can give me some information.

Besides for bitcoins? I would say nothing. There were a couple of people promoting their new cryptocurrency here and there are a lot more popping up hoping to be as much of a success as bitcoins are, but they never will be. Then again, I didn't jump on the bitcoins bandwagon as I thought it would crumble within a year and look where it is now (I still think it's going to crumble).

There are some people that invested in Bitcoins when they were less than $10 and are very wealthy now. No one knows what the next one to go big will be. I wish I did because I'd sink 20 grand into it tomorrow and be a very very rich man in a few years. I hear people saying Bitcoins will crash and some saying they will be worth $10,000 each in a year. Litecoins are gaining popularity and are worth watching but as with anything like this, if you can't afford to lose the money you want to invest it's probably not a good idea to take the risk.

There have been 5 crashes, if I am correct. All of them were corrected later on! It's impossible to even think BTC will crumble due to the volume of users and merchants involved. Satoshi, in his research paper, clearly said that the value will increase with the increase in users.

To the OP, I believe Litecoin and Quarks (even though it's called scamcoin) are the next big currencies after Bitcoin. I have invested in BTC, LTC, NMC and now Quark.

Pumps in the altcoins are absolutely killing it - they are similar to penny stocks but without so much competition (funny enough crypto-currencies by their age-indiscriminate nature attract lots of kids who don't know the first thing about a bid/ask spread).

Long term I wouldn't count on much...Litecoin has been seeing a nice rise and many are speculating it will hit $50 soon (they have been saying that for a while).

ZET is under a long-term pump by a decently organized crew, and QRK is going to get some massive news on December 19 in a Max Keiser video that should see an uptick in prices but the coin is already heavily pumped so I for one will not be putting a single mBTC into it.

Well i'm glad some people are interested in cryptocurrency. I made a small fortune with alternative coins. What comes in handy is to analyze the market trend and usually buy when it's at a low point, wait more than a month then cash out. My biggest profits in a month was about 5 x investment with netcoin. I also tested IFC, DVC but got about 5-10% profit.

Some more advice, never cash out everything unless you want to quit, don't panic if the market will crash (always got back, look at bitcoin trends in the past and current) and don't invest more than you afford to lose.

If bitcoin increased about 73 times this year, I'll be more than happy if my alternative coins investments will make even 20% profit per year.

LOL, some guy a few years back tried to start his own currency(I think backed by silver) and the US took him to jail.

There was also E-gold which ended up being a massive scam back in the mid-2000s.

I have my own list which I think will have the same potential with Bitcoin. I do fundamental and technical anlysis about them by doing research on a daily basis.

I would say the one with the most practical value & most adaptation, most acceptance rate... so that is bitcoin.
I see kids buying all kinds of crappy altcoins, that are not used anywhere, not accepted anywhere, like wtf are you doing buying that crap?

Litecoin spiked to about $50 in late 2013 and quickly dropped back down to $3-$4 where it hasn't done much since until this year's spike in price. I wouldn't be surprised if it does it again. The fact that you would be pissed if you lost it also suggest this is a much too risky investment for you.

I have 1 grand in LTC, it's worth it. This coin is more stable, faster and more advanced than BTC, it will be in the 3 figures by the end of the year when they implement the new tech.

Yeah I heard about this. THat's pretty scary. To go from $50 to $3. . . But then again BTC dropped from $x,xxx to $200 that same timeframe right? LTC and BTC are tied together, so maybe that's what happened.
