Hey Folks - I have a weird one here..

Over the weekend I sold two of the same item.

I placed the second order a day after the first. The second order has been dispatched but not the first.

Now, here's the thing. I marked the first item as a gift, but not the second. What is holding up the first item?

Neither are using Prime!

I would like to contact Amazon but am afraid, should I just go ahead and contact them?

I need the item to dispatch tomorrow or the item won't arrive until next week, which is bad.

Contact Amazon, just say its an xmas present for someone im sure they will help. Did you get any reason why the other item has not despatched?

Well, I called them, they never asked and just game some bullsh*t reason. They said it should still hit the expected delivery date.

Bloody annoying though because I was waiting until it was dispatched before I notifed PayPal/eBay, now it's past my 1 working day rule.

Annoying , i can imagine. Maybe contact the customer just explaining the delay, just give some common reason, i find if customers are kept informed they are ok about it.

You don't need to mark it as gifts. They don't put invoices in boxes anymore. Also amazon's shipping sometimes f's up pretty bad and won't ship things out at all on time. Happened to me last week and I also missed my shipping goal.

Keep hearing conflicting reports about Amazon putting invoices in the package, can anybody confirm if this is still true in the UK, I still put gift just to be on the safe side. Sold another 3 items today and got my limit raised, so definitely going to open up a shop now.
Is it necessary to be a business account or do most stay as a personal account?

What where/are your limits now?

I'm rocking an aged 10 year old ebay account which eBay have told me unlimited right now.. I hope it doesn't get limited.

Regarding invoices.. I haven't received an invoice from them in a good while when ordering anything myself. I've been sending mine as non gifts becuase the one gift item I ordered still hasn't been dispatched yet.

I'm worried about that one tbh.

Yea I guess it is a tough biz to be in but like you I will have software do everything for me so it should take a lot of stress out and allow me to scale. I guess Amazon delivery is the toughest hurdle really.

Are you a software developer by change or did you get yours custom coded or is it off the shelf?

eBay uses paypal and Amazon will only accept credit cards. So I guess youre buying the products with your CC and pay the bill at the end of the month?
