Ask me anything about dropshipping on ebay

Appreciate the informative thread guys. I've been wanting to get into dropshipping for a little while now, but something that worries me is the fluctuating prices and how to be able to keep up with it if I were to list hundreds of items.

You mentioned a tool that you use, though I wouldn't really expect you to tell everybody what it is but I would appreciate maybe a point in the right direction, because this is the main reason I haven't started listing.

Thanks.

Not sure if there is a tool out there (that's available), but I created my own soft that monitors price fluctuations, and then if the prices on Amazon go too high it automatically cancels the listing (I set in a profit margin that I'm happy with).

OP, do you use tools like Terapeak? Or do you just sail close to the wind, i.e. using intuition?

When i drop ship to a state that has tax i have to cover the cost but i see that if u try to order the same item from my competitor to my buyers address the tax gets added on after i click buy now but before i make tge purchase official do i have to make myself an llc or is there another way?

I am huge fan of Google Shopping traffic and had 100% track record in getting approved and running stores smoothly with good conversion rates and 1 cent a click on my products from google shopping.

With all my past experience i can say this model can work with amazon > your own store. cutting out ebay and the risks of loosing the money. All you have to care about is amazon prime and shipping.

anyone have any comments on this model or have any experience, please share. i have multiple google shopping approved stores in different locations and can safely say that this model is bound to work if amazon prime and shipping issues are sorted. i am up for a JV too if someone can handle the amazon prime and shipping part.

p.s OP the intention is not to hijack your thread but to add another option into the mix and see if it works for all of us.

My three questions for you would be:
1. How are you listing mass quantities of items?
2. How are you repricing your items in real time as Amazon pricing fluctuates?
3. How are you getting traffic?

^If all three of those are automated and easily scaleable then this might make sense

We're not using Terapeak.. but we're also definitely not leaving it up to intuition. Almost everything we do is methodical/calculated

^That combined with a seasoned eye = sales

No need for an LLC. You can edit that within eBay

To clarify for everybody following this thread: You do NOT need an LLC at all on eBay unless you are:
A. Banking heavily
B. Operating under stealth accounts

We don't advocate the use of stealth's unless you're already banking hard or have been banned from selling on eBay

Like so many others, really appreciate your thoughts on this, awesome!

I'd have a question about the most recommended process listing items:

I have been breaking my head around digging through items on terapeak only to find items actually more expensive on amazon ;-)

I then decided to flip things on its head and take the amazon sales page as a reference and comparing it back to terapeak, which to me instantly was a lot more effective. Given I'm looking at using dropshipping to fund my cpa activities, my intent is to scale, automate and outsource as quick, as possible, therefore I would be very grateful if you could share your wise 2 cents on your specific process to source items. I fully appreciate, in case you do not want to disclose in exact manner, in case you could go as precise as you feel comfortable, that would be very cool.

Please hit me up, in case you (ever) need advice in paid traffic, affiliate marketing, more than happy to share.

I have one main question,I plan on drop shipping items out of the country now and let's use China for instance.Say I have "Really awesome china product"listed BUT the delivery service is epacket, how do I list epacket in Ebay?I see other sellers listing it and even being able to post the item's from China but I don't know how to,I was gonna just put some random China postal code to make the item pop up from China but I still want to know how to use the Epacket feature

Anybody got an answer:p

Its not illegal to charge tax on an item if im not an official buisnes (i dont have a tax id or anything)

Because I'm on eBay too and if you're using my image you're competing against me on eBay. I spend up to $150 for each item to get my pics professionally taken and photoshopped. You ain't gonna use it for free.

Btw. For people who drop ship my products I give them low quality pics if they ask for it. But the high quality professional pics I'm not giving away.

What do you sell? I'd like to dropship. really looking for products but keep coming up with blanks

lol notice how my last post nobody had the balls to address.. Too alpha

yes, but you would owe the state the money you collect as taxes. You technically owe the state the money even if you are not legally required to collect taxes. Eventually if you do any sort of volume, the state will come after you.

Someone mentioned buying stuff using the Paypal CC (as a short term loan). I thought you could only buy stuff if you have funds in PP?

I don't think they meant "Credit" PayPal have a debit card which allows you to spend the fund in your PayPal directly

EuphoriX.

Can you please give us your own opinion on how eBay, PayPal and Amazon view DropShipping? Positively or Negatively?

You said before that telling eBay on the phone you are repricing is a bad idea..because they will know you are dropshipping. But they can easily run reports and see who has repriced their items, even correlate that data with Amazon to discover dropshippers.

Thanks

Not EuphoriX but eBay has no problem with dropshipping (http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/product_sourcing.html) but for some reason they seem to get an attitude about Amazon to eBay dropshipping. I've been told by multiple people that it will be very difficult to get your limits raised if you admit to dropshipping from Amazon. I had my limits raised yesterday and they asked me where I source from, I gave them some BS about Southeast Asia and they were fine with that.

I don't see why Paypal would have a problem at all. Amazon only has an issue with using Prime free shipping to dropship.

Hey, I've been looking into doing this method for a while now. However, I'm situated in Canada. I was wondering if it was possible to ship items to the USA or am I only limited to Canada? Would it be as simple as searching products on Amazon(USA) and posting them on Ebay(USA) I've seen that a lot of products on Amazon(USA) only ship to the USA therefore I wouldn't be able to post those listings on Ebay(ca)? Is that correct?

EDIT: I'm Basically asking if there's a way to allow only certain demographics of ebay to buy my products, because sometimes amazon products are only available to ship in the United States, Likewise with the Canadian version of Amazon it's restricted to only Canadian shipping. Or is that the whole point of different version of Ebay

Ah ok, I guess that makes sense. I would say that they don't like it because it might annoy buyers when an item arrives in Amazon packaging.

Yea, if i'm speaking to anybody i'm going to say I have started a venture where I source items from asia and keep in a warehouse on the English coast. I control access to the warehouse, therefore I have the items in stock.

I wonder is it risky to say that sometimes if the item is out of stock I will get shipped directly from Amazon and take a profit hit. I do this in order to have positive customer experience as opposed to cancelling the ebay order.

I wouldn't over explain myself if I were you. Keep it simple, it's fine to say you source from Asia and keep in a warehouse but I would stop there.

Cheers for the heads up, I figured as much. Don't dig a whole I guess.

How do you go around choosing the right titles for your listing? Whats the best way to find the best keywords related to your product ? Also how do you research to find the right product to sell ?

1- Google Shopping does not have any limit to quantity being listed. you can list millions.
2- Using amazon API, one can easily make the price syncing on your store very easy, cron jobs can do the job. i have a working opencart module for this. I am working on even more felixble wordpress plugin which will be completed in next 1-2 days.
3- Google Shopping has plenty of traffic, even ebay advertise on google shopping.

This may be a dumb question but my selling limit is 100 items. When I list an item it goes to 99 and so on. If I list 100 items I will be at zero, can I get sales then? If I sell at 0 can I change my quantity back to 1 after? I'm just a little confused on this. Thank you.
