Hello Guys,
Today I will share my experience about Website speedup and saving bandwidth. Last 3 month ago i started a website which was mainly image base website. And i had lot's of visitor (100k page view per day). So that's why it's take a large amount of Bandwidth. Like more then 15 GB per day !! That's pretty big amount of bandwidth for a very basic vps hosting. I'm using a Resell hosting with unlimited bandwidth features but after getting too much visitor they notice me to move my website to another hosting. But i tried a experiment for saving bandwidth and i saved more then 65% bandwidth in my website. Today i will tell you how you can save your bandwidth and how you can take a large amount of visitor in a basic hosting. Let's start...
1. Use CloudFlare.
What i say about CloudFlare! It's a Free content delivery network (CDN) services around the web. If you use CloudFlare you can save your bandwidth more then 50% instant. They generate a cache version of your website and display them to your visitor from there server. So in the mine time who will visit your page they will got all content from cloudflaer until any changed happen to your website.
They cache everything of your website. Like Image, HTML, JS, CSS and other script. Also main part is they save your http request from your main server. So if your server got down for massive visitor hit, they will deliver all content and serve request from there service. So people will see that your website is live. That will save you from losing visitor. Because a share hosting can't take big amount of hit at a time. They have limitation for resource use. When resource use limit cross then your website will be down for a while until visitor flow down. So you can fix that with CloudFlare.
I will not enplane here "how to use cloudflare", Just search in google or youtube. I hope you will get a very good instruction about that.
2. Use Jetpack (WordPress Plugin)
If you use WordPress for your website then it will be plus for saving your bandwidth with JetPack WordPress Plugin. Jetpack comes with a free, world-class CDN called Photon. With Photon enabled, Jetpack updates images on the fly, caches them automatically, and serves them from our CDN.
When you activate Photon, your site?s images, both old and new, are uploaded to a WordPress server. Old images are all uploaded as soon as you hit ?activate?, as that could be significant depending on the site. When people visit your site, they?re seeing your images, but they?re actually being delivered from the WordPress servers. This helps you because it reduces the load on your site?s resources, and the WordPress servers are, most likely, faster than your servers.
So in that case you can save 100% bandwidth for your uploading images!! That's mean people who visit your website, Image will load from WordPress. Just your website HTML, JS, CSS will load from your own server !! So you can save 80% bandwidth from your total website.
3. Use WP Super Cache (WordPress Plugin)
This plugin will help you take a cache from your website. They will compress your all code and reduce your website size. So your website will be load more faster then previous mode. Also it will reduce your server request. You know when a visitor visit a page server doing lot's of request and make it live in your browser. If that site with WordPress then it done lot's of thing in Background server. So when you install WP Super Cache Plugin then will make a plane HTML version of your website. That's why server will not getting busy for every hit. And you will save lot of resource with that.
If you want to reduce your server resource and load your website faster then WP Super Cache is recommended plugin for you. It's really easy to install. Just google of youtube it. you will find good resource for that.
So if you using those 3 at a time, believe me you can save 70-80% of your total bandwidth as well as make your website more faster. Hope that post will help you guys who want to invest low for server and speed up their website.
Thanks
