I've seen many celebrities posting links on their Facebook pages that has nothing to do with them.

Here are some examples:

And the list goes on...

What do you think? Why are these celebrities posting such random links that has nothing to do with them?

Best regards,

Probably not. Some get paid for posting if they have lots of followers, but usually by big sponsors like Coca-cola or something, not usually meme sites.

They are probably fake pages. Anyone can make a Lil Wayne Facebook page. Especially if you substitute the l for a capital I, on Facebook, they look the same.

they are fake...i think the official account has some blue Check Badge besides their name?(not 100% sure)

You are right. Facebook offers the possibility to verify your account. The vast majority of celebrity fb pages is verified.

If you see aplus - thats the project of Ashton Kutcher after his App-startup failed miserably they started to get in on the viralnonsense blog thing to make at least a little back from their investment...

None of the ones you showed is an official profile .

The reason it didn't show the verified icon is because I screenshot the posts directly off their timelines. You can search "Lil Wayne" on FB for example, click on the official page, and you'll see the random links.

They're probably just being paid to post them. You also have to remember the majority of celebrities don't run their own accounts. There are a number of people who have access so they could be getting paid or offer a discount on their service or who knows. I don't think they're being hacked though.

Another point is why would Akon, for example, want to make some money off Facebook when he's already rich? It just doesn't make any sense...

ahhh they have that badge....maybe they just have nothing to post for today ahahahahaha or maybe the admin want to earn some extra $. =)

That's one theory lol; Who knows!

Damn I thought it only happens on our local celebs here in the Philippines. But now international celebs are also posting all this random post.

Also, some of the titles + links are the exact same thing but posted by different celebs pages, which is pretty strange..

I saw that Skrillex's facebook page was hacked a couple of weeks ago. Some really strange links were shared and then deleted after a few minutes.

How can some one hack a facebook account, they get asked all types of question.

That is Lil Waynes official page. He always posts APlus stuff, he actually has a stake in the company. The other ones are most likely paid posts.

I would have to say that they are fan pages. They are most likely not the celebs real page.

I guess no. Probably their managers earning some quick cash.
