This is going to be a lot of q's. If you can solve these issues, I'll be your biggest fan. I'm ready to throw FL out the window. I've got hundreds of accounts, and am ready to ditch FL for a better alternative immediately.
I dug into TS 6 months ago along with many others, and am just now taking another look, so what would be most helpful would be if I just list the problems I'm having with FL and see if it is different.
1) If I want to do something so simple and necessary as following back anyone that follows me, FL forces me to run a whole other instance of the software, and have individual settings for each of my hundreds of accounts where the name of that account is typed in as the search term, etc. It's a nightmare. It's error-prone. It's a system killer. It's just plain stupid. If I want to instruct TS to add the task of listening for new followers and following if not already, how do I do this, and does it require another instance?
2) As the lists grow (blacklist of unfollowed users, for instance), FL, just stops bleeds itself to death. I'm watching the vids and not seeing immediately where those lists are. How in TS do you do things like make sure only one of your bots follows each scraped user, or that you don't refollow someone who has already been unfollowed? Can you import/export and manage these lists?
3)FL's import and export don't work. If I want to do something as simple as export a list of accounts and re-import them, I can't. The export doesn't even contain the proper passwords which are blacked out, but it doesn't matter anyway since all the columns are misaligned on import making the whole exercise a waste of time. I explained all this to the dev who rather than realizing this was a bug that needs fixing told me I needed to buy a copy of xl, and learn how to rearrange the columns, then re-export... when I am literally just looking to import the exact same thing I just hit export for. So... If I want to archive a list of accounts, or something similar, then re-import them, is this a simple task of pressing a couple of buttons, or something else?
4) The reason that even came up is that I was told that to do the simple task of following those who follow me, I would need to set up another instance (which I mentioned.) Not a problem... except I have hundreds of accounts. So, you'd think I could just Make a copy of the project and change the task on the second instance. Nope. Can't copy and rename the project file. Can't do a simple "save as". Can't export and then re-import the hundreds of accounts. After multiple rounds with the dev on this I was finally told to just re-enter everything... HUNDREDS of accounts... then go in and individually set each account (for HUNDREDS of accounts) then run a whole second instance (of HUNDREDS of accounts) for that one task. So... Do I have some version of Save As with TS that lets me create an alternate version of the project without having to rebuild the whole thing from scratch?
5) The main problem I've had with FL (and the reason I'm finally done) is it's inefficient to the point of failure on a regular basis. I finally broke down and decided to spread the load across a few computers... only to be told that the license is per machine only... which wouldn't be a problem if it weren't so inefficient in the first place.
So... right now I have a dual core machine with 3gb of ram. I would like to be running 500 accts, but currently have 125 that are in essential rotation. (others are in building phases). Roughly speaking, if I want to follow 950 a day, unfollow all who don't respond in 3 days, retweet a dozen times a day, favorite 500x a day, and listen for all new followers so I can follow back... am I going to be able to do that on the one machine, or will I need more? If so, what are the lic terms regarding this? Would it help if I scraped the lists separately on another machine? Run at 125 threads? Less? I understand this is a bit of a guess, but looking to ballpark where the walls are.
thx.
Sorry for being long winded, but like I said... ready to move the whole enchilada over TODAY if TS is a better fit... and it's not a small decision when I factor in the time involved.
Speaking of which. How much of what I have in FL can I simply import into TS? Is this a simple matter?
