Hey there,
I'm currently working on an Anime site. Right now it's in developmental phases, and it will be released in April, no exact date will be given, but it's in April (Around the time when my favorite anime will be released).

To check on the development of that try out one of the test anime on the site: Death Parade Episode 1 & 2. The reason for the Soft-subs is because while hardcoding is great and all, you have much much more freedom to edit subtitles in a single go plus multilingual support.
It works for mobile also, and is very responsive. I need to work on it a bit more, I need to set a full delay parameter for the subtitle feature due to phones decoding videos slower than regular computers.
Note: This entire Development is being done by 1 person, and it's only me, so if i take long to respond to feedback, please note that i'm usually working 24/7 on the site.
I am developing apps for it, on Android and Windows Phone. I cannot do Apple Apps due to me not knowing anything about apple software app making, so that's a no-go.
I'm also looking for a good VPS that will be willing to host my site when im done with it. I have one in mind, but if you are offering please do all the help is needed to get this thing running. IF you are also offering Video hosting that would be nice too.

Development Process
I need some suggestions on this development, I'm thinking from a "anime watcher" standpoint, but that isn't enough, I need more people to help me with ideas on this site. (And design). In terms of features, think of something like Myanimelist or Humminbird but with the ability to watch the anime. I am currently working on implementing a full membership system, it's already there, but I have to integrate it with a forum later on. One extra coll feature i've implemented is soft-subs into the player, Like Crunchyroll, however instead of the usual WebVTT or SRT subtitles, it uses the Advanced SubStation Alpha, so you can expect all the cool styling of your preferred fan-subbers.
