Promote artist and get discovered by listeners

There are many software's out there, but I was hoping to get some help to find what suits me the best.

I have a local band I want promote, our primary goals are:

1. Get discovered by listeners who like our music.
- Get people to click on our youtube/Soundcloud/spotify links.
- Get followers on Facebook.

Of all the software's out there, which one would you guys recommend being best for us?
I am currently looking at Magic Submitter and thinking about going with that one. Seems like it will "spread" the music somewhat to all kind of random people.

I've been in the music biz for years, and originally got into bhw 6 years ago to help with it. Never found any automated system that worked to build a legit fanbase, ever. There's tools to buy youtube views, soundcloud likes,plays etc. But, is that really getting you anything doing that? Are you actually getting fans or just boosting your ego seeing the view counter move up?

I have never seen anything that worked but hard work and building one fan at a time, ever. No short cuts for this one. People have a great BS meter for music promo online these days. I made one of the first myspace bots back in 2004, and it worked back then before that bs meter existed. Man, we got a TON of real legitimate fans with that. But nowadays no.

One REAL piece of advice: Get your email list built. Anyone wants you free mp3s? Get their email address. An email list for a band is the best way to actually have a tangible hold on the fans you get.

The rest is a lot of sweat and hard work, one fan at a time.

What we got right now is the email-promo list of music lovers and DJs that are looking for new tracks, but was hoping for something new and better with some black hatting.

No problem, i have been there. Believe me. My only real success with music is doing one fan at a time. Automated methods for music have lost their effectiveness, once everyone had access to them. Oddly enough the email list thing has been around since the 90s and it's still the most effective for music. Tried and true.

I've found ways to take my seo life (job) and my non-seo life (music) and NOT cross their paths. Something might come up occasionally where they meet, but forcing the issue has never paid off for me and countless others i know.

I did, however, come up with a few other things that could be of use:

You could always buy facebook ads to promote an email signup squeeze page. Some people hedge their bets on % this and % that to make estimates on getting 1 cent clicks and sell X number of units to pay for it. It could be a break even proposal at some point. But then, that can get very messy and very costly if you dont have a few grand to experiment and split test various methods and ad copy. That info is here on bhw. I'd search for squeeze pages, facebook ads, 1 cent clicks, that kind of thing. Look for practical applications where this might end up getting you some real fans. Facebook ads do work in some cases and are viewed as genuine by music fans.

House concerts can be high paying gigs with good guarantees. But i never did them as of yet, but i might be promoting them for my next record. If you have an email list, figure out the highest priced item your band can offer them. House concerts top that list.

Spotify playlists can be good, if you can create a killer playlist of good music that people want to share, and one of your tunes happens to be in there.

You could try to find a music discovery google key word to rank for, but thats pretty saturated too. However, it could be done if you sent people to a quality squeeze page to get their email and could rank it.
