So I Started a Music Blog

All you need to do is good proper keyword research for your music blog .. CPC for those keywords should be about >$2 . And then write on those keywords, then start the backlinking magic. You will see the good results.

I'm not sure how to select one keyword for a website that reviews music, does lyrics analysis, brings artist news and so on, :/

Do some research. Choose a keyword with low competition and high number of monthly search. When you're building backlinks, build backlinks on that keyword and have a lot of other keywords which you will target in your articles. But its good to have one main keyword.

Ok then maybe I should have few keywords surrounded by one main keyword. Thanks for the tip.

taylor swift?....lol.........just kidding, you should make some juice sites and link it to your main site

you need to focus on one genre of music.
There are so many genres and sub genres of music it's impossible to do well if you're trying to throw a net over everything. People will not respect your website.

People follow certain channels on youtube for a reason. They like THAT music. Why would they waste their time browsing to your site when they can let the music show up on their feed in youtube.

Get up on soundcloud, post comments to music you like, have your website shortlinked in the comment.
Post genuine comments to youtube videos. Don't try advertising "check out my site" -- instant ignored.

I hope you have moved to a lot better position since you posted this thread. I myself started my own blog and have reached the similar numbers like that in 4 months back in 2013. But you are off to a great start. Good luck with your blog. Wish I could take a look.

Thanks. I think it has improved a bit since. I get over 200 daily views now, and just yesterday AdSense notified me that I have reached some earning threshold and will be sending out a PIN to verify my address. So everything is going smoothly.

I don't think I can post links here just yet. So try googling "just random things" and find the url justrandomthings... around the second search result page.

I wish I could see your blog and see some stats as well. :)
