I've known quite a few people who've attempted to start their own "hosting business".
Every single one of them shut down after a could of months. It might seem an easy way to make some money without too much investment, however, you need to know your shit before you get into it. There are countless of problems that may occur that would clog your server. Malicious plugins, cluttered databases etc. etc. etc.

If you have a couple of months to lean the basics of server administrations, you might have a chance. If not, quit while you're ahead.

There are many services you can offer with Hosting. I would go with a few I'm very familiar with like VPS and Dedicated Servers.

They seem to be the easiest services for a reseller to offer because you can approach this in many ways.

+1 We have seen a lot of resellers begin to do nothing more than being an affiliate as you usually make the same profit with none of the work involved. If you can find a good affiliate program which offers recurring commissions you can easily create your self a good salary with doing nothing more than basic sales work.

If you want to do web hosting yourself, you need to have a niche where next to no one sells hosting otherwise you will be in the deep end with the big boys with huge advertising budgets. Most large companies will spend more money in a day on advertising than you will likely make in a decade at a good paying job.
