I recently decided to try and buy some facebook adds for a couple articles of one of my sites, which I am trying to monetize with a mix of adsense and Amazon affiliate links. It's a small site, receiving 50 unique visitors a day and barely generating $5 a month. This campaign multiplied by 20 the number of unique visitors for that day, and the bounce rate fell from some 70% to 20%. It's the first campaign of this sort that I make, but I was relatively happy seeing these numbers, having paid 7 dollars for it.
The thing is I feel something doesn't fit. My adsense earnings have just barely doubled from the usual value during these last two days, and that may be just because I've been promoting a bit more the site this last week. How can a 20x increase in audience, which seem to have navigated more on the website than usual, produce such ridiculous increase in revenue? Is adsense ripping me off? Do the statistics have some delay, and I should see a peak in the following days?
