Kindle Publishing JV

I have no private relationship to Gringo but your post is not fair:

1- The OP offers a JV, but indeed it's his outsourcing service that's hidden in the name of JV and the win-win.

The OP has built up a business in the last month/years. That means he has an automated system with many good workers for the different publishing tasks (writing, formatting, etc.). He provides other people to use his working system. So yes, you can call it a "outsourcing service" if you want. But thats also the sense of this. But what does it matter? Important is that it's working.

Compare it to Amazon. Amazon built up a system to sell books. If you want to sell your books they'll keep a part of the sales. Omg, Amazon is a hidden "distribution service". They have workers for the different processes (so they also outsource the work). It's an outsourcing services that's hidden in the name "Amazon". Omg, it's the devil! :D

Again: You can call like you want. It's an ordinary business. Important are the results.

2- $15K not enough! sure, the idea here is to make you spend much more, and as a broker he may spend $5000 or $10,000 and the rest will be his pure profit.

The OP is on an income level where it's no more profitable to publish books even everything is automated. That means he is not interested in people who are just able to invest eg. $1000 to make a few bucks more per month. If he cares about a few hundred dollars more per month he could easily publish his own books. So its absolutely understandable that he doesn't want to waste his time and effort with small fishes. I bet if you pay $10k+ he provides you a good stable passive income. The profit of the OP doesn't matter because if you can eg. get your investment back within a short time ...everything after that is a win for you (and also for him). So you don't have to care about his profit ...you have to see the chance what you can get.

3- If you failed F#$ You! It's not his fault, cuz you didn't apply his rules fore sure! and if you did it, he makes money again from you!

EVERY investment is risky. It's clear that the OP can't say eg.: "Pay $10k and you'll make guaranteed $2k per month." There is no guarantee in life ...except the death. But Kindle ebooks are passive income. That means you'll get your money back sooner or later. And with the expertise of the OP the chances are high that you'll win because again: No one is interested in cheating you.

Did you ever talked with a real businessman or with "rich" people. No one will say things like "F#$ You!" to his customers or other people. That's completely against their mind sets. They are strong personalities, financial free and they want to grow. They know that providing value is the key for success in life. It's hard to belive but that's the truth.

I started to think that's a lot of people who starting a journey threads, or jump in one and give big claims that they made TONS of money, they just fishing some noobs for future project...

Yes, you think. And this mindset limits you to be successful.

What makes me think like this? simple, cuz you refuse to do JV with those who won't PAY for your full service! the logic says if there is a person who is a good designer for example or who can build a nice website why you won't do JV with him if he can provide the SAME quality?

It's the decision of the OP how his "product" looks like. It's not an "outsourcing service" for different tasks. It's a complete package where you just have to invest, lean back and manage everything (loosely speaking). If you buy a book you can not say: "I just want to pay for chapter X." If you buy a new phone you can not say: "I just want to have the phone without the headphones and the cables because I already have this." It's the decision of the provider.

It's clear that's the point here to SELL as much as you can for that noob who needs your magical system!

The word "magical system" shows that you have no idea about businesses and their structures. Sure, you can build up the same system like the op but it can take months or years or maybe you'll never reach it. And that's the huge advantage of his offer. You can use his existing structure from day one to lean back from day one. You don't have to write your own books. You don't have to create the cover, websites and so on. That's the dream of every head of a business: Automate every process so that it is a pure investment game. And you can get this freedom from day one. You have to take the complete system and concentrate on the management or building up an own business and NOT to waste your time with creating websites (even if you can do it). Do you really want to play web designer (every kid can do it) or do you want to concentrate on the important tasks to make money?

The reason why I wrote this is because it's unfair to judge about a product/service/jv/magical system (call it like you want) where you have no idea. Because with your "opinion" you limit other people to be successful and that's not okay. I'm a really sceptical person but I also build up such a publishing system right now (for me). And I also know that I'll come to a point where I've automated everything but where it's also not profitable anymore to publish books for a few hundred dollars more per month. So I completely understand the OP and why he is doing this. He is not interested in cheating somebody. He don't want to make the big profit with your investment. He just wants to get a part of your future income because that's a nice way for long term success for him (but also for you). So if you are successful - he can be successful too. Nothing else.

And finally, yeah a proof that's not photoshopped will add a big value since people have to risk thousands of $ in advance, at least give them something in advance too.

Thanks!

Again I can only thank Pinger for his comments.

The secret to my success is not difficult. Pay talented people to do the work.

This is what I do and if I knew this when I started that is what I would have done then.

1. I pick any niche I want!
2. I look at the #1 selling book in that niche and see if my team can create a book that is better than that - and I mean blow them out of the water better.
3. I check the sales of that book to see if it is worth my time.
4. If it is I make sure I have the money and pay my team to create it.

The problem is almost everyone on BHW is thinking how to save money rather than how to make it. So they scrimp and save to produce the cheapest book possible and it usually looks it!

I have been on BHW for 1 year working on the Kindle. In that time I have only found 1 decent author and 1 decent illustrator on here.

If there are any people on here with any genuine talent and are up to the same standard as my team then of course I would not make them pay for an illustrator / author I would love to work with them. But my experience has been that is not the reality.

Think like a consumer - they buy books that look the best and seem the most professional. So I simply make mine that and by upping the quality stakes but not the price most people usually leave the niche and stop competing with me, so I end up dominating it.

It is the equivalent of you selling someone a burger you bought in Costco and heated up for $2.99.

I hire a gourmet chef to hand make premium burgers, give them a free drink and fries and all for the same price.

Which do you think they are going to buy?

And to make it worse for you I then set up opposite you and watch you go out of business as all your customers come to me.

And I suspect Pinger is coming to the conclusion this is the best way to grow your Kindle business as well. :)

Hope everyone had a Happy Christmas.

Based on a number of questions I have had I realised I might not have explained things in respect of this JV thoroughly enough.

This is a JV that utilises my existing system and more importantly EXISTING BOOKS that ALREADY SELL. If you are a talented author / illustrator I can work you in, otherwise I would rather use my existing production system, because it works.

I sort Book 1 out on my own at my own expense. When I am happy with the performance I would look to JV and produce a series from Book 2 onwards, which would be published through your account.

Before you actually commit anything and once we have agreed terms I will provide proof and show you the current sales performance of Book 1 in the series and explain how I wish to scale that. You will either agree or disagree to do that. Only if you agree do we move forward and commission the next book in the series.

To give you an example: A book that I tested about 1 week ago in sales/borrows makes about $35 per day which I extrapolate to about $1000 per month. I would want to turn this into a weekly series. So in 3 months we would have 12 books all hopefully making $35 per day each or $420 per day or $12000 per month for a series of 12. I would get 30% of this.

What I am looking for from a JV partner is to scale each series because books that achieve decent sales performance do not come cheap. Bear in mind Amazon pays 60 days net.

Hope that clarifies matters.

Mate,

This thread would have went so much easier if you had posted a screen shot of your earnings to prove you are earning and to grab peoples interest, explained that it will be based around adding books to an already established series, came up with some semi convincing blag that noobs might believe about why you need to JV rather then scaling it all up yourself over time and keeping 100% of the profit rather then 30%.

There are literally hundreds of examples of this that you could have ripped from the warrior forum.

In my opinion your latest post adds even more suspicion as if you read your first post in the thread followed instantly by your latest they kind of clash. The first post comes across more towards you helping people choose fiction/non fiction niches, marketing and outsourcing books on their own niches from scratch that they have chosen and now you have shifted into this second book in the series thing.

Then Pinger posts adding some social proof with some other crazy blag as to why you need to JV rather than scaling it up yourself but he doesn't take you up on your JV offer......

If you have everything set up and set in stone then why not just go to a bank and as for a business loan and keep 100% instead of 30%?

I have been trying to workout the hustle in this and I agree with Black Codes post. I think this is promotion for your own outsourcing system where you will make your money but you have disguised as a JV thread.

Shaunm,

Accurate criticism is fair enough. But you should make sure you know what you are talking about and similarly check your facts before you say anything. Just because you keep repeating your concerns, doesn't change the fact they are inaccurate.

Both I and Pinger have explained how this JV works, just because you don't seem to get it, does not make it a scam.

So I will try and keep it simple:

1. I am happy to work with talented authors/illustrators here on BHW. Using my team is only necessary if you don't have the ability to create a high quality book yourself. So you are incorrect about that assumption.

2. I do provide proof to anyone I agree terms with and before they commit anything. Similarly you are wrong to say I don't.

3. To fund everything 100% myself I would have to slow down production, where I "save up" instead of ramping it up. I would rather have a smaller % of something big than 100% of something small. Why do you think companies sell shares / franchises?

4. By virtue of the fact you don't know this I suspect, as Pinger states, you have not been particularly successful else you certainly would not have made your last comment about going to a bank!

Seriously go to a bank, explain I work in IM and ask for a bank loan? Of course banks are falling over themselves to lend money. You could say that about any JV on here and you would be equally as wrong.

IM is a massively broad niche, register yourself as an LLC and describe yourself as a publishing company. That is an accurate description of what you are doing and what I intend to do once I have scaled correctly. I see no reason you would have major problems provided you are able to prove to the bank everything you are claming. Plenty of people get bank loans for companies in their early days.

Companies sell shares/franchises as they have reached a level where bank loans are impractical for the amount of cash they require.

Currently I am actually correct when I say you do not provide proof of your earnings, to yet noone has came forward to say you have proven your claims. In my opinion something like this would have had proof of earnings from the get go, even Pinger said this in his post. Also the girl you claim you have JVed with in the past from BHW has not came forward to support you after various criticisms from various people.....again strange.

As for being willing to work with illustrators/authors that is only one part of the complex puzzle, they would still require they rest of the outsourcing services.

I truly am sorry for being so negative but this does read just like a WSO thread in my opinion and I saw you have received a warning from the mods about you spamming the forum about this thread and incase you were wondering I was not one of the people who reported you.

Shaunm,

I think you over estimate my importance, most people with any credibility are too busy to come on here and defend me - I am amazed Carepolice and Pinger even bother to. Plus it is Christmas, so most people are not online at the moment.

So we will just have to agree to disagree.

I disagree with what you are saying and you disagree with my JV. So this isn't the thread for you then.

But to AGAIN answer your points...

I am not American so I cannot register as an LLC and being an LLC is no precondition of getting a loan.

In any event banks DO NOT give loans as easily as you make out. As you say when you have scaled your business and attempt to deal with them you will see this proves true. When you have done it you will also see why companies sell shares/franchises, as your current explanation of "they have reached a level where bank loans are impractical" is laughably wrong.

If you don't understand the difference between debt and equity you really shouldn't be giving any small business advice. If you did you would see a bank loan is inappropriate for most small business'. This is no different. And if you don't know why I suggest you give up on setting up your own small business, else any venture you are involved in will soon run out of cash. Which is what I outlined to you at the outset. I think your just pissed because I would not help you set your own team up outside of a JV, the reasons I gave were because you didn't have enough funding or expertise to do it. Your subsequent posts seem to prove I was correct in this observation and made a wise decision not to work with you.

By your own admission you don't understand Kindle Publishing and the fact that you fail to recognize high quality Illustrators/Authors are THE MAIN PART part of "the complex puzzle" (as you put it) and where almost all the money goes, speaks volumes. I can only reiterate what Pinger says on that matter when he demolishes your arguments. Which again you say you don't understand or agree with Pinger on.

When 3 people who DO know what they are talking about say one thing and you, who by your own admission know nothing about KDP say something different, you should consider what you say before you besmirch it and get proof before you say it else you just make yourself look a fool.

No doubt your view is tainted by the scams you have experienced in internet marketing. Publishing on the Kindle done properly is not internet marketing. And if you think it is you should not come anywhere near it. You create high quality book and Amazon will market it, if you don't they wont. Or are you claiming James Patterson and every other author is just an internet marketer pulling a scam?

I don't know another way of saying this, but for the 4th time, I am happy to provide proof to anybody who is serious about this JV before they commit to anything. But I am not just going to post it up for all to see and then, no doubt, the ones who are not interested, such as you, claim I faked it anyway.

Fair one I agree to disagree :).

I'm not pissed about us not being able to move forward with this, I had a team in place as I have said and was just wondering what you had to offer. My first book is getting around 6 sales a day so I'm happy with that for a first attempt.

Just a heads up though, this is the second time you have contradicted yourself in the thread :s

Seriously go to a bank, explain I work in IM and ask for a bank loan?

Publishing on the Kindle is not internet marketing.

Anyway best of luck with your JV.

ShaunM: That's not a contradiction, I was quoting what you suggested about going to a bank - I don't agree with what you were saying.

hi,GringoMonkey, i am interested in this offfer, can u pm me for more details? how much money did i need to invest on it? thanks!

I would like to thank everyone who has contacted me about this JV.

But it is now full and so I would like to close the thread.
