OK folks, another very good way to get good backlinks very quickly is through podcasting! First of all, go here:

hxxp://www.podomatic.com/home

and set up a FREE audio or video podcast. Add links to your site in the description and on your podcast's "Favorite Links" section. Then get the RSS feed from your podcast and submit it to as many podcast directories as possible. Here is a good list:

hxxp://www.masternewmedia.org/podcast_directory/

after your podcast gets accepted into those directories, all your backlinks will then be replicated many times and the BigG will count most of them, but not all. You'll also get some traffic too. Check it out!

I get great results from Podcast Alley. A lot of my submissions are PR4 now (submitted in June). One shot to the first page of google within days and has been there ever since.

Thanks! So, the only way to auto-submit podcasts is by submitting the RSS feed? Can't we auto-submit the actual MP3 file to the podcast directories with software?

Well, with video files you can always use http://www.tubemogul.com/ and you can have one video quickly distributed to several popular video sharing sites that you are registered with and include backlinks within your description. Also, some bigger podcast directories like http://podcast.com/ will accept both your media files and backlinks in your descriptions as well. There are many other podcast directories that will accept both the media files and backlinks too. I have heard of RSS Submit but I am not familiar with how it works etc.

Also, I have to say that if you have a video podcast and you submit videos to video sharing sites, you should be careful when submitting videos to hxxp://www.metacafe.com as I have had them "steal" titles from me whereby the video on metacafe.com have ended up ranked higher in the serps than the original for the same title. There is nothing wrong with metacafe.com, but if you submit to it, just submit to it individually (don't use tubemogul.com) and use a different title and description than your original.

Podcast Alley for example allows you to place your link on the feeds page.

jonoryan, the podcast feed from Odiogo also includes a link to the original article on your site (as well as the mp3 hosted on their own domain). You just need to find directories that make use of both links.

This is some great information. Thank you all for sharing (I have clicked the thanks button for each of you individually as well). Great stuff!!!

Another technique to add to the SEO **************, impressive thanks
