Small update:
I have published my 200 page cookbook with CreateSpace to test the water. The kindle verison has about 150 sales per month ($8/book). After 10 days I have sold 10 books of the printed version ($15/book). I think I can reach 50 sales per month. So CreateSpace is another good income source because you allready have the content and you dont need to invest money. Its a nice bonus income and if you are specialized in the cooking niche like me its an option because the people prefer a printed book if they are in the kitchen. I will also publish my other cookbooks at the end of this month.

Next step is to produce cooking videos and publish them with Create Space. I have no idea if someone will pay for videos on amazon!?! Any experience?

No, the 35% is if you don't enroll in kindle select or your book is below $2.99.

I'm a little concerned. Today my stats I see about 120 free downloads.. But not a single sale. Has any one experienced a delay in reporting with Amazon? Or is this a sign of being black-listed?

Now the stats show 300 free unit downloads. But the stats for KU or Paid units are not updating. I had a total of 22 KU and Paid unit downloads yestderday. Today not a damn thing

I think I picked a good niche. Hopefully this keeps up. But I want to know when I should up my price. And how do I get reviews.. Should I just wait for them to naturally role in?

Did you research your niche by looking at the best sellers and staying with less popular niches? Or did you go with the most popular niches? Thanks.

I look through the top 100 . . And I pay close attention to the rankings of the #1-2-3 spots. And I make sure there aren't hundreds of other books in a selected niche/category . Staying in a less popular niche is not a good idea. You want to get traffic and downloads. If a niche is not hot why even bother? This is not about re-inventing the wheel. Just remember people want to solve problems. if you're not writing fiction that is! whatever that "problem" may be
