Does anyone have any experience making money with this type of niche. For example something similar to the drudge report. Does adsense allow ads on these types of sites since content is not original but comes from other sources. Looks like drudge report uses advertising form adsources. Any info on the prospects of a site like this making it would be great since I would love to put my news junkie addiction to some better use than knowledge alone lol. Thanks!!

I saw a sort of health site aggregator once, all the content was duplicate from other sites and it was doing amazingly well, a lot of first page rankins.... i guess it all depends on how good you are at seo and building links to your site after that, and less on the fact that it's all duplicate content from other places

you need to mention the source, I have a similiar site and it is doing great for me , I had an option for SOURCE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE POST in my wordpress plugin which helps me get it done automatically , I am having a great time with adsense on it

Yeah, its called "curating" Its like if you fuck a prostitute its illegal, but if you fuck a prostitute on camera its porn and totally okay some how.

You need to be extra careful with such sites and adsense. If it's user-contributed content, then adsense is practically forbidden. Reason is people will post "funny pics" and other disallowed adsense content, and they'll nuke your account for no reason and keep your cash.

Adsense is to be used only when you control 100% of the content. Notice Reddit and other large aggregators do not use adsense for this reason.

sorry to bring this old topic up again, but i am looking for a clear maybe answer to the same question.

Just published a bitcoin (XBT BTC) news aggregator and put adsense to monetize it.

I am using wordpress (self hosted) and twitter as my main traffic generator.

I amgetting the rss feeds and publishing the first 1000 characters of newsof every source, and then i have a "Source: name and link of the original source" read more. No pics, no nothing.

Am i violating the google tos and possible to get banned?

Google’s Matt Cutts: Duplicate Content Won’t Hurt You, Unless It Is Spammy...
