Google "waiting period" after May 14 payday update?

thx guys for yall reports is clear now that the less monthly term the faster you rank the higher monthly term the longer you wait how long idk im waiting 2nd month now lol while long-tails leading on page 1-2

As I said in an earlier post in this thread - I'm entirely confident that google would have attempted to limit the ranking delay to sites that are 'actively chasing down' a higher ranking, rather than destroying the UX by destroying recency of results.
I then said that when we get clues, thoughts, and ideas about what signals they use to determine 'actively chasing down a ranking' we'll better know how to circumvent the delay algo. If indeed circumventing it it's even a worthy goal - nothing wrong with waiting, if you know your SEO is solid and the results will occur.
On a side note - checkout algoroo.com - the turbulence in rankings since the update has been much, much less than the historical norm, which might indicate some type of overall 'dampening' effect from the update.

@SEOMagicianAL: 1st site took around 37 days. 2nd site took around 45 and other 2-3 are still nowhere to be seen. It is not a fixed time period [random i guess].
One thing i noticed is that as soon as that waiting period is over, sites instantly shot up to page 1.

Yep, I'm definitely noticing it too. It would take 2 to 3 weeks to rank for the terms I target. They just stuck; won't budge.

As a few others have pointed out I'm inclined to agree that thin sites are having more headwinds these days than ever, as we all know 90% of any worthwhile serps are dominated by large well established authority sites, but google has to account for legit sites that go viral but there's characteristics about legit sites that go viral oppose to your latest 5-page "cheap insurance quotes" site that suddenly gets 100,000 links from low authority domains...

Right, aged domains will not solve this issue, 90% of my tested sites were aged domains and they behaved the same way as new domains. Interestingly out of the 10 sites i built between 15 may to 25 june, the site which was built and indexed on 16 may(it was brand new domain registered around 5-6 may) is ranking top 3 for 100k searches term, all sites built after 20 may are struggling to rank and not able to hit top 10.

I had been using a churn n burn method that worked up until April/May which has been patched by this "update". It still works but is limited now. Don't know if google targetted it specifically, but surely it is no longer as effective.

So basically, continue to build quality high pr links to our money sites even if the rankings are stuck. Then after the 30-45 day waiting period, our site will shoot up in rankings?

We are not yet sure how long the waiting period lasts so it can be 30 days or even 6 months.

But what that means actually, can someone explain me this two cases:
1) Buy 100 High PR links that last 30 days, let them expire after 30 days and buy 100 different High PR links that will last 30 days again - THIS WILL NOT RANK
2) Buy 100 High PR links that last 30 days, after 30 days just extend them for more 30 days - THIS SHOULD WORK AFTER 30-45 DAYS
Am I right? Or it doesn't matter?

We don't know yet. We haven't had 30-45 days since that new update.
