I have just bought scrapebox, I have of course emailed support, but hope I can post here to find the quickest solution...

When I click the activate button I put all the correct details in the form, but when I click submit it says to enter a valid transaction id, which I had done?

Has anyone had this problem before?

SOLVED: (update)...

Well in record time scrapebox support got back to me, in case anyone else finds this I just needed to type the transaction ID by hand, not copy and paste it like I was trying to do.

Well done scrapebox support, outstanding service!! Highly recommended!

Thanks

Sometimes when you copy and paste things it can copy and paste html formatting or the like with it that you can't see. So you can always just copy it and paste it to notepad, which strips formatting and then copy and paste it from there to scrapebox. I use this method regularly for various things to strip formatting.

After numerous back and forth emails to support it looks like there is no solution in retrieving my license. That's a pretty big bummer. I would recommend making that a little easier for version 2.0 ;)

How hard is it to save your license details? I mean I don't think that scrapebox licensing has anything to do with your ability to back things up. I have a image made of my entire business machine hard drive every day, it backs that image up to a 2nd hard drive on site.

I also have all my files auto backed up daily to a secury Amazon S3/Glacier account. All my websites backup to S3 as well via a IAM account that allows files to be written, but not deleted so even if some hacks my site and gets the IAM details, they can't delete anything.

I also have my files backed up to yet another local drive, a different one then the image is backed up to. I save all my software license data in a folder that is included in both the image, and the file backups. If my home and office were totally wiped off the face of the planet via a natural catastrophe, all in the same day - I could walk into any store, buy a computer, hook it to the internet and have my files in a matter of hours and be back up and running.

My dedicated servers that I run scrapebox on, they also backup to S3. With options like google drive, AWS, dropbox, rackspace files, OpenStack, Azure, and a dozen others that are all mainstream, along with consumer based options like carbonite, mozy and TONS more, the only excuse for losing license details is your lack of effort to back them up.

Im not slamming you, Ive lost plenty of files, in multiple failures. Which is why I have backups of my backups in some cases. :) But really, Ive been using backup service for years, but my lost files at times were due to my only using 1 service, and something happened where it didn't backup because the service was stupid (mozy pro, proceeded to not backup my files due to lack of prepurchased space, and the default in their system is not to send you a message to let you know your out of space, you have to turn that feature on - Stupid for a pro service, I canceled obviously). Thats why I now have backups daily to multiple places as well as system images.

Point being, if you lose digital files in todays world, it really is your fault and no one elses and now is the time to go full scale backup. I was in a networking group at one point that had a data preserve guy in it. Every week he would give his 30 second pitch and end it with "its not about backing your data up, its about getting your data back". Its so true, its not a question of whether or not some day you will lose data to a HD failure or otherwise, its a guarantee it will happen, and the question is, will you be ready when it does.

Just tossing out my 2 cents.

I bought a new VPS and requested a license transfer.

After a few hours, I got the "Scrapebox License Transferred" email.

However I am still getting the "No Valid License Found" message.

(I restarted my VPS and I am using the latest version of SB).

What could be wrong?

Go to help >> test server connection - are all lights green? If not then something is blocking scrapeboxes access to the internet. Firstly make sure you set scrapebox as trusted/allowed in all anti virus, firewall, malware checkers etc.... Then you can try closing any unneeded programs.

Bought SB yesterday but hasn't yet been activated.

Transaction ID: 5FL78347BU355****

Make sure you send in the correct license email, this is your primary paypal email if you have a paypal account, or its the email you entered when checking out if you purchased with a credit card. Its also the mail you got the "thanks for purchasing scrapebox" email sent to. If you send in the wrong email it won't work.

Yes, it should still work fine. There will still be a 32bit version and you will get the option to download either 32 or 64bit versions. It should work just fine.

Ok, well you would want to contact support, you can't really fix a licensing issue here in a public forum, sensitive details and such.

Some things are out of our control. I lost my license previously, and I was able to get it back. At that time I knew I needed to back things up because I own a lot of licenses for programs. So I got a swap drive, and I would back things up to it then just store it in a closet. Everything was perfectly fine. However, my house had a horrible pipe burst issue which resulted in heavy flooding. All of our stuff was pretty much ruined. So here I go again recovering things. I definitely agree with you on needing to keep up with your stuff, but at the same time a business should have good customer service. I am able to recover everything BUT Scrapebox :(

Im sorry to hear about your house, thats no good at all. Hopefully everything works out for you in that regard. My grandfather had his house flood while he was away once, and it was a mess. I wish you luck in that regard.

As for the license, support can mail your license details to your license email address. So if you have access to your license email address you can get it back that way. Else if you have your paypal account, you can simply go into your paypal account and search for a payment to

support (at] scrapebox [dot) com

or

paypal (at] 5t8 {dot] com

If you have a business/premiere account this will be no issue, if you have a personal account then I think they only go back like 2 years. So you may need to call them. That will give you the transaction ID, and then assuming you know the email address, you only then also need your name, which you would know as well.

Are you not able to get your TID from paypal and not able to access your original license email?

loopline, do you have a Skype that i can contact you at?

Sure, its

loopline2003

however Ill tell you up front, Im nigh unto impossible to reach on there. I long on about 1 time per week, for a skype meeting that I have and then I log off. My issue is I wind up killing loads of time on there, and not actually getting any work done. My schedule is pretty hectic, to say the least, so skype gets kicked to the curb when its choose between that and actual production time.

However I check my personal mail 6.5 days a week (sometimes I go light on personal mail on Sundays). service {at] mattborden [dot} com

Nobody was hurt, and insurance helped replace the damaged stuff. Of course, things like pictures can't be replaced and that's a bummer. There's nothing you can do but move on though.

I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place with the license. I'm pretty sure the email used was the same as my PayPal. It's my old ISP so that email is long gone. When I try to reset my password for PayPal it will either send the link to the email that I don't have, or call the number that I no longer have. The scrapebox support team is no longer responding to my emails even though I've been nothing but friendly, and honestly trying to find a solution.

Yeah, pictures are a hard thing. Im actually in the process of organizing all my pics for backup. All the digital ones I have from the past many years are all backed up to glacier, but all my old paper ones are just in the basement on a book case. I need to scan them all, and back them up. This is just a good reminder to get on that, so perhaps I can get my rear end motivated with your story, before something happens to my pics. Thanks.

On the license, that is a bit of a tough one. Perhaps you can call paypal, and see if they can let you answer some security questions to get your paypal reset. You can't be the only one that has ever changed mails and lost their paypal password, I presume they have a procedure for that. Perhaps you can fax in an ID or something. Just a thought.

I guess worst case you could buy another for $57. Its not awesome, but if its the worst that came out of a flooded house, thats not entirely too bad. Maybe you could even get your ins company to pay for it, scrapebox can send an invoice/receipt for license purchases.

Just an advice, never use the proxy api that scrapebox has. That service is not available, because the api is not working properly. I just was scammed by the guy selling that service, and don't want even to refund. After 1 month still say that will update the api. I will try to contact scrapebox regarding this, so atlast they can stop this scam from third parties. I am very dissapoint because thoose guys are offering a great software for spun articles, but with this scam i was really dissapoint. Again please be careaful about this, and if someone received a scam like me, i would like to know.

What api? I don't see anything in scrapebox about a proxy API. When you click buy proxies or visit the page on scrapebox.com there is no API proxy options available either.

Definitely back them up if you want them to last long term. Cloud services seem to be the only true way to keep things safe these days. I'll give PayPal a call when I return from my trip. I figure if I can't recover it that way then it's just not meant to be at this point lol

Hi, it is recommended to harvest using private proxies on the webpage. Does this still stand as recommendation today 2014 Jun?

I have problems harvesting using proxies, keeps locking me out. What am i doing wrong?

Do you recommend harvesting using public proxies over private proxies?

Many thanks. Looking forward to 2.0.
Also thanks for this weeks update of the premium article scraper. Things are moving. Keep it up

I recommend you to harvest using public proxies only. You can do it with private proxies as well but you will need a lot of them. If you don't want to burn them you should use a single thread for every private proxy. So, if you have 50 private proxies you can go with 3-5 connections.

Aside from making a usb drive/dvd and running it down to a lock box at a local bank. For a few years I debated about making DVDs of things and keeping them at relatives houses. Now that AWS is so robust and inexpensive, I just use that. Also google drive is fairly inexpensive, like $2 per 100GB. I just have quams about backing up all my "SEO" stuff to google drive, I feel like they might use that data against me.

Yes perhaps if paypal can't help you out then its not meant to be. lol

I would recommend using Private Only. I only use private for scraping, I basically never use public proxies. I haven't used a public proxy this year yet. Google is so tight these days that makes lots of other people want to use public proxies so they are harder to find then ever, and they die quicker then they did in years past.

If google gets tighter tomorrow, all I have to do is spend a few extra bucks and pick up 5-10 more proxies to add to the mix, where as when it comes to public proxies, even google "tightening 1 more notch in the ban belt" as it were, makes them exponentially harder to find.

At the end of the day, I don't have hours a day to spend messing around with public proxies. If you spend 2 hours a day messing with public proxies, so you can save 50 a month and you work 25 days in a month, your saving $2 a day, thats working for $1 and hour. You could go work at McDonalds and take home $2 an hour after taxes, lol. I could go knocking on doors in my neighborhood and find people that would let me mow their lawn and I can drive my mower around my neighborhood and make way more then $2. Better yet I could just make a web page, rank it in google local and be swamped with lawn care business (did that for a friend and they get personal and business contracts for all manor of outdoor needs, even big companies like AT&T have contacted them and hired them).

I would rather mop floors for minimum wage then mess with public proxies for a buck an hour. Plus private proxies are set and forget, I can run the automator and it just works, day in and day out, with no intervention from me.

I would go with something like alaltaierii said, I use 1 connection for every 10-15 proxies for regular keyword searching and 1 for every 15-20+ proxies for advanced operators.

I am having some issues scraping urls on my scrapebox I am running the latest version 1.16.3 but never mind whenever I try to harvest blog urls, etc I get a pop up asking me to chosee the engines I usually go for just 2 or 3 google, yahoo, etc after several minutes it stops and I get Zero, zilch, nada no urls are scraped.. I do not know what is going on any ideas please?

If you are getting a popup window asking to select engines, you are using the custom harvester that looks like this and not the regular harvester. Just ensure your engines file is updated by going to Settings > Custom harvester Settings > Import / Export, and then select "Download Engines from ScrapeBox Server" to update the newest engines file.

If that doesn't work, try disabling proxies and see if your proxies are causing no results.

Finally if that doesn't work, try going to Settings, then untick "Use Custom harvester" and disable it completely and use the original basic harvester. The custom harvester you can control 100% yourself, train new search engines from scratch, fix engines yourself if they stop working etc but if you dont know how to do this, and are having problems going back to the basic harvester might be the best option if all you want to do is scrape Google and Yahoo.

have a question, as the pc i have my s/box on runs xp/sp1 due to port scanning
can not scan above sp1 [ portscan ] will sbox 2.0 still run on my xp sp1 machine

Yes, it will still run on XP no problems.

Loopline. Thanks for your posting. I figured it out.

Shared proxies for scraping is KING. I set around 20 for 1 connection. Got at least 200 000 results in 6-7 hours with one footprint and 900 Kw.

I would not waste my time going public proxies.

Scrapebox is now running like clockwork! I am so pleased!

My proxy provider is so chill. He changes proxies that dies out on request. If i get a ip ban i just stay cool and wait. Normally this means you have to many advanced operators or to many connections. Adjust and try again.

What is the latest regarding update to Scrapebox 2.0 ? Will iy be a free update for licensed customers?

Your Video Tutorials are AAAAA +++++ , i feel like iam back at Uni again. I must of watched the tutorials 3 times a piece :)

Great glad you got it working. :) Yes shared proxies/private are king. I have no updated on 2.0 other then that last I heard they were cranking along.

It has over 700K lines of code already. They started fresh from the ground up, so its no small feat. It will be worth the wait, Im sure of it.

Glad you like the tutorials, watching multiple times is ideal. Not sure if its good to be back at Uni or not, I hated school, or rather being forced to learn things for a degree that I didn't think were relevant or applied. I am at Uni every single day on google learning and growing, and with books, but thats all stuff I deem relevant. :)

Hi

Yeah i can only dream about the features that Scrapebox 2.0 is going to bring, dreams of built in captcha, super features, private blog networks, etc etc. Could imagine that the developers have tonnes of new stuff if not on code inside their brains!

I just start using this awesome tool, and there is already a new one onroute. yes

I agree, University just pushes you to learn the actual methods and the topic goes thereafter, like pointless in some kind of weird way. Not many times "they" get the actual "labratory" or real life implementations to work out, but still they run like a pack calling their failing a success. Kind of a laugh!

If a Undergraduate student had to put in the ammount of time for ex. a scrapeboxer puts into learning and understanding the different things, it kind of 50 % of the total course! BSC computer science... haha

University feels more like "frequent fliers" program. Kind of.

I loved your straight up example of how to utilize Scrapebox, put up a website, fire away, marketing, and boom there is big fish customers on the hook. Anyone could use this example to their local anytype businesses right away!

All the best!
