OK so you've been around for a while, tried all kinds of things. You spent money dozens of times on things that suck, and picked up a few gems along the way. Here's the challenge based on what you know now...

You are locked in a prison cell with only enough food to last you 1 month before you starve. You can only buy more food with what you earn (assume instant payments).

You do have one crappy domain name, a hosting account, and a windows 7 computer with internet. You have borrowed $200 and it must be paid back before you can count any earnings. You have no established sites or seo tools. Your only seo asset is the knowledge you have learned along the way. If you ever make $10K the prison door will fly open and set you free. But right now, you are focused on staying alive.

What would you do with your $200? Buy a tool, hire someone? Your goal is to pay back the $200 and earn some money before you starve to death. It's life or death.

Times are desperate, you have to try something. What's your plan?

if you want methods you should really try our new search function

Clever way of trying to sniff out new methods OP, but you're not going to fool anybody here ;).

In laymens terms, maybe eventually get 10K, but initially, how would you make more than $200 using your mental gifts in a single month so you could buy food, assuming such a small budget. I think my plan would be to try and flip websites. I'm not sure. It would be a terribly difficult challenge for me. Another idea might be to try and find a job as a freelancer online. Tough choices and everyone probably has a slightly different idea, or no ideas so they sidestep the question.

Sorry the people with the ability to take $200 and make $10K with it are smart enough not to giveaway their methods to a newbie presenting a fake challenge question.:wt:

1. Post a thread here, explaining my current sutiation.
2. Create a Fiverr gig like "I'll write your website/message on my prison cell wall".
3. Will do a massive research on how to escape from prison.
4. Create another Fiverr gig - I'll include your website url in my goodbye letter.
5. With some of the money I'll buy a domain - saveaprisoner.com(available!) and create viral website. Actually I'm not going to say how I'll monetize it :D

Pretty sure I'm out of there!

OK well first, yes I'm new to these forums but I've owned a successful ISP for over 20 years, and I have my own methods which have been successful for me. It feel strange to be called a newb, but I am new here so I'll take it. Meanwhile, I know nobody is going to give up some detailed step by step plan to turn $200 into thousands of dollars. I'm not a moron. I just thought it would be fun to explore, on the most basic level, where people would approach the business if they found themselves all but penniless after years of training. It seems like a great post for the young people just starting out, and I see a lot of posts here from people who have no budget. I was in that boat, and many of us were before we got our Doctorates and met with business success etc. Play along if you like, or not. But please don't condescend to new people who come here. Everyone has a first day, and many probably have pockets of knowledge that far exceed established members. That's what makes an online community fun.

I'm not entirely sure what the deal is, but I lurked for a long time before joining and there does seem to be plenty of latent hostility toward new members, not being mean, but being short and almost rude/dismissive. Maybe there are many new members who come here and start trouble? I don't know but just a word of caution, the new guy might have something to offer you someday soon. We can all use some kindness and open networking with each other.

Fiverr gig, "wrote your message on my prison wall"... that's funny stuff. :)

Contact any local shop and sale everything you found on the net, or amazon affiliate... maybe

OP, you have chosen the wrong time to borrow money.
Pay it back now because it is unlikely you will achieve success straight away.
You can make money with other people's money but it is much better to have a foundation to start with.

Get a part time job, there is always work that other people don't want to do. Earn some start up capital yourself.

Good idea Levic, I imagine the desperate online version of this strategy might be "buy refurbished" and sell "new" ... people do that quite alot. It's terribly dishonest to present a refurbished item as "new", but if you had to do something desperate, I suppose many people would go down this road. Buying auction items and reselling, or listing items you can drop-ship from your prison cell might do the trick if you are very skilled at selling. For long term success, the drop-ship way might be the ticket. Anything dishonorable will eventually be found out. Maybe you could run one of those "Sell it on Ebay" stores from your cell, where people bring you items to sell for them. :)

Your writing skills are not bad. I would suggest starting a writing service in the market place. Although, not really familiar with the requirements off the top of my head. I think your account is to new. So you might have to start off in the joint venture section.

If I remember correctly; you need 3 months on site, a certain number of posts, and at least donator status. Dont forget the listing fee for your service, which I dont remember how much that is.

Reading through your past post your a decent writer, so you could charge a higher premium.

That was so nice. Thank you for the kind words. Writing is a passion of mine. I'll keep that in mind if I am ever locked in a cell and need to make some quick cash! :)

I kind of like the idea behind this thread. Mainly because it can help change your mindset if you actually allow yourself to visualize the scenario.

Lots of people in this forum have stagnated in terms of progress or trying new methods. And lots of people are satisfied making peasant money ($5-10/day etc).

If you visualize a scenario where you urgently need to reach a goal your mind will work to create solutions to the problem.

That being said I don't think many people will share what they come up with for obvious reasons. Still this thread has value if you take it the right way.

The only problem with this scenario is that most likely you are not going to take $200 and turn it into $10,000. This scenario is like winning the lottery and running a business is nothing like that. It sounds like your expectations are not in line with reality.

What are you selling? Are you going to be affiliate? What is your business model?

Because if your sitting in a cell with nothing but a computer, then most likely you are not going to be selling a physical widget. So lets turn to software, how about you learn to code and make an iPhone app?
