seocrab's AdSense journey to $500/month

Thanks for the update.
A quick question; the Google Plus Authorship plugin can it be used on an old Google account or is to be used only a fresh new account alone?
Thanks

also, can you please share your personal configuration settings for yoast SEO.

Great post OP! I am really looking forward for linkbuilding process as it is the only part where I get stuck ALWAYS.

Definitely keeping up with this thread!! Awesome information provided by the OP.

I have one question though:
Under the "Adding Content" section, for the future, do we have to continuously keep adding content to our pages or is this just one-time adding content thing? Hope you can understand my question! Thanks!

how did you get traffic from yahoo/bing ? i get ~ 1000 organic google search daily but barely see any traffic from yahoo/bing :(

keeping an eye here, thank you, keep it up!

Doesn't matter, use whichever Google account you want to be associated with the site. Pick a professional-looking photo to help with CTR (and if your site is of interest to a specific gender, try and match it).

Nothing special needs to be done with yoast really, here are my general rules (and you can do this without the plugin if you want):

- make sure your page titles (h1) have your keyword phrase in them
- add a custom meta description to each page with plenty of long tail keywords (HINT: when your site is shared via social networks, this will get picked up).
- block duplicate content like author archives from the .xml sitemap (and robots.txt)
- always use the page title as your permalink (i.e. mysite.com/page-title-goes-here rather than mysite.com/2014/03/post388585)

For now, it's ok to just add one set of content. I will see how rankings go before considering adding a blog. Regular fresh content never hurts a site, but it's a lot of work so I will see how it goes.

UPDATE:

Got my first SERP results courtesy of serpbook.com....some odd results but it will take a little while to stabilise:

Alright, good luck. Don't forget to share your tips/site setup if you want to come along for the ride. :)

I don't if its OK or if the issue is with my site: so far i have 6 content on my site excluding the privacy, about us and contact us pages. out these, only home page, contact page, privacy and about us pages are indexed! is this normal?

AdSense Pages

To comply with AdSense terms, I added a 'Privacy Policy' page (edited a standard one). I also made a 'Contact' page and an 'About Us' page.

Homepage

The homepage is a STATIC PAGE, 500 words of content related to all 4 keywords, with inbound links to each landing page, an embedded YouTube video and a few links to authority sources.

So now the site is set up, I'm waiting for it to rank before building any backlinks to verify that the on-page metrics are good.
Will update when I see some movement on Google/Yahoo or bing.

Thanks for the journey, I plan on following along! Did you install Adsense on your site from the get-go (because the domain was already matured)? And, if one chooses to buy a fresh domain, how long would it be wise to let it sit before installing Adsense code?

4,000 exact monthly searches. That's just for the 5 main keywords; there will be plenty of long tails picked up too.

How little is too little? I have a strong keyword group that will bring in about 600 monthly searches -- is that worth the investment for a microniche site?

Thanks for helping beginners so willingly!

I love this type of journey. I will be keeping a close eye on this one and may join in on the fun in a few weeks!

In my experience if you are hoping to make a decent amount of money from your site you're going to need more searches than that. Unless you have an awesome CTR, or super high CPC keywords, you're probably not going to make much money.

I guess if it's really easy to rank you could go for it, but I think you could find much better keywords with a little digging. Just my thoughts.

I'm in the proxy niche for many years getting 5 figures, now that I got everything automated I was planning to do something like this. Thanks for your updates seocrab!
