Starting a new journey usng 7878's method

Hey Yvann94,

What are you using to find prospects?

How are you finding them online?

Thanks

I'm doing it manually for now. No local scrapper because I find it more precise. But I may make it more automati soon. My only problem is that I will soon have nearly no time to meet the clients except on Saturdays, will be difficult...

I've just had my meeting but I now have big problem.
The guy has only one thought : posting fake reviews. I told him the risks, I told him a thousand time that my method was better, was a more long-term method but he told me that he doesn't want a long-term method ; only a short and radical method : posting fake reviews...

Is that a good idea ? I don't feel really confident posting fake reviews myself or ordering someone, especially because I'm not in the US. The thing would be to post around 30-40 fake reviews on Tripadvisor, Gg, Yelp. Is this still working ? And what are the risks of being caught ? (I told him about the 300k $ in the US but he told me that it would never happen here...)
Do you know people who could that for me : but that would mean, posting reviews from different languages on different sites.
How much would it cost me ? How much should I charge for that kind of thing ?

I don't feel really confident with all that stuff...

Thanks

If you don't want to, then don't do it. Make it clear that you do honest business and don't want to risk your name for such activities.

Or if you really want the money, find a provider and double the price (at least), let him sign a contract where you can't be responsible for the damage it may cause.
But if those fake reviews turn into trouble, he won't hesitate to tell others how you messed up... while its actually him who messed up by doing it this way. Offcouse he will never admit that to his clients of friends. :)

Its up to you to decide... I personally wouldn't do that cause I value my company name and reputation more then one client that won't pay alot anyway.

Well if I do it, I'll do it without a company name... In fact, he told me : "ask your company if they can do that but if they don't want for legal reasons, I would pay you cash for an undeclared work..." So normally no legal problems I think because there would be no traces...
But the only service (I mean well-known) I found on BHW is 80$/review so that would be much more expensive than my system... around 4-5000$ only to post fake reviews (btw it's this one : http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...views-any-site-negative-review-removal-7.html)

And I don't know other providers, cheaper but also very good...

The problem with fake reviews is that if they don't get 100% sticking rate, and get removed quite often. The provider even admits it himself on the thread (respect to him being honest), and offer to repost. But repost don't always work neither. So if you're offering a unstable service/solution to an offline business that you're liable of, you're looking for trouble.

It seems to me that the owner doesn't care about his business ore reputation, and just want to 'cheat his way to the top'. So from that, you can probably tell his personality.
So if one day, god forbid, the reviews get taken off, he will definitely chase you down for a refund regardless if there is a contract or not. Because we are talking about $4-$5000 dollars here (like you said), and they vanished without explanation.

And from your perspective, at that point, you probably won't refund, because you will say "I explained to you clearly about this". Then he will be pissed off, and you will be call a "SCAMMER" in this industry. He will go to business networking events or other vendors and talk about how he got scammed $5000 etc. Your reputation will then be ruined.

Yep.. In fact, I think he thinks the cost won't be higher than 500€ or 1000€... and for that price, I won't be able to have a good service for him :/ I will call him telling him that the price would be around 5000€. I know what he will tell me and I don't care. Maybe, he will change his mind and take my service. He has to understand that posting fake reviews will be more expensive than using my system. But he is a kind of stubborn :/

Well, there are some clients you just have to 'let go'. Once you build a solid system, you will be so occupied that you will 'pick your clients' carefully. Some are just not worth the trouble and time.

Hope so :) I was quite excited with my first (and for now my only) client but it's gonna be a bit more difficult I guess. But I have only sent 15 letters so that's a very little number I hope. Should try to make it a bit bigger and send more letters... The most difficult thing is knowing that what you offer to the client is gold and they just don't understand that :(

And the main problem is that I'm still at school (and for more than 3 years) so I won't have all the time I want to meet the client. I had one month totally free so I test this method. I can see it's working quite well (3000€ for 2 weeks of work is rather good) so I'll have to find out a way of mixing school and that.

And I might change niche. Will send another 100 letters to restaurants then I'll test with hotels, ... And will try with dices as I have only put dices in one letter for now.

I believe you are on the right track.
The beauty of offering ORM services is that it's definitely more stable than SEO services, and the passive income it generates.
As we discussed this before on SKYPE, obtaining your first few clients will be quite challenging and tough, but once you have a few clients on hand, then you will be able to expand easily (while making passive income at the same time), because in most cases, clients will refer to their friends/family etc. So at that point, you don't have to really seek for new clients but having clients knocking on your door.

Hope so :) But obtaining the first few clients is not that easy :/ But I won't give up before having around 10-15 clients.

UPDATE :

- Have just sent a new batch of 30 letters this morning trying 3 different types of letters. Hope I'll have some results and will report which type is the best
- 1st contract will be sent today (I know, I should have sent it long ago but the restaurant was busy last week). Hope, it will return with a big check in it !
- Will have to call back the guy who wanted fake reviews telling him it won't be possible

This week :
- Will call back the different restaurants that received my letter but haven't called me back yet.

UPDATE :

After my 30 letters sent, 3 restaurants called me back on Tuesday. (that's not very good...) 1 only wanted to tell me that he had a lot of clients and wasn't interested, the 2nd one thanked me about telling her about that problem but told me that 200€/month was too high for her... I'm thinking of maybe call her back and propose a cheaper alternative. For the last one, he told me taht he wanted something that will work, and that he will give me the money I want but he wants to have a proof it will work. He doesn't want to lose money making a test. I have scheduled a meeting on Monday but I'm not that sure he will be interested.

Conclusion : Only 1 meeting for 30 letters sent. That's a very bad return...
I may call back the restaurants from the 2nd batch of letters I sent last week. But I'm not that sure of the return I will have.

Good luck! I wanna test this method one day. Just wanna know, whats ORM? o.O

You're not giving yourself much credit here, bub.

3 out of 30 is a 10% response rate which is massive. Are they all buyers? Nope. But getting the phone to ring is the aim of the outbound campaign and at 10% you're getting a predictable result you can build upon. It's simple.

As of page 1 of this thread you had invested about $68 to bring in $4100.00 (if I read your posts correctly). If that's not mind-blowing ROI I dont know what is. :D

Follow up on your DM via phone and you'll double your leads. Keep your pipeline full of prospects and rest is all simple math and a bit of closing skill which you'll get stronger with over time. Keep at it.

ORM = Online Reputation Management

Yep the ROI compared to the money I've invested is very high (for now, I'm still waiting for the 1st check so...) but compared to the time I've invested, it's different...
The biggest problem is that the only deal I had is from the very first email I've sent... So I'm wondering what is the problem...

But thanks for your support. I won't give up, even if I now have less time to write the letters. Once I have some clients, it's nearly passive income so, it definitely worths it.

Will have to think about the biggest package I can propose for my next meeting. Because he wants results, whatever the price, so I need to be sure about the results I will have.

Well, I'm still waiting for my first check because the owner was on vacations last week.
The woman who told me it was too expensive called me back and told me she was interested.
My last meeting was a bit problematic : the guy was sick and didn't tell me about that.

Thank you for the update. Its a good thing you didnt call that lady back with a lower price. Sometimes you just have to let things sink in with them a couple days and they will call back. I see that a lot in my industry.
