Are You in LOVE with INTERNET??

Ever you felt you are kind of in love with internet i.e you felt like you are spending lot of time on internet more than take care of your parents, loving your wife, spending a quality time with your kinds or having a bash party with your friends.

I know its a scary question - but just like to know the sincere response from BHW community ?

Tbh, one of the reason i chose IM is because i have grown with it. I can live without food, but i can't live without the internet.

I think the real question should be: if you lived 30 years ago and were the same age you are now, what in the hell would you be doing without the internet? I can honestly say I have no damn clue. The internet gave all of us the chance and ability to create wealth right from our homes and lead completely new lives than what generations before us could. It also allowed us to live completely different and have new types of relationships with people. Whether that's for the betterment or not really depends on how you handle those relationships.

For me, I don't facebook, linkedin, twitter or whatever. I maintain close relationships with people with whom I want to be close with and keep outsiders exactly where they need to be, on the outside. The internet, through social platforms, tends to blend both kinds together and call all of them your friends, business associates, followers, etc... That's why I just leave it alone and I decide who my real friends and business associates are.

I wouldn't call it love. But I enjoy the internet more than most things in life.

I never understood why that is looked down upon...

Here's why...

Someone training 24/7 is called an athlete
Someone teaching 24/7 is called a professor
Someone parenting 24/7 is called a parent

Someone on the internet 24/7 is called hopeless.....

Doesn't make sense to me. The internet is essentially a huge library, which makes it one of the most educational places to spent time. It also provides people with a salary which then provides for their families.

Yet society comes up with these terms like "addicted" whenever it comes to the internet.
Which is senseless because they would not say that about any of the other examples I mentioned.

Call me addicted, crazy or hopeless, but I'm paying my bills with a smile on my face because of "the internet".

I've loved the Internet from the moment I met it - I remember when I was about 9 or something, and me and my dad dialled up to the Internet, then we were talking to some guy in the US over some sort of dos prompt (no idea what is was).

i thought it was absolutely amazing that I could talk to someone over the other side of the world!

eventually, I also met my darling wife over the Internet (on teenchat if anyone remembers that site)!

so yes, I can most definitely say that I love the Internet.
