I was just wondering that is buying domain and keeping them with yourself is intelligent decision ?
I have purchased 5 domains and never renewed them...coz i purchased them for buisness which I never started...

If you have domains you don't use, on your free time, develop them into anything instead of being a squatter.

Write articles on information and how-to guides, make a gallery site, make a generic mockup to flip, and whatever else you can think of

Domains have tremendous value if you use them. Why have them otherwise? Yes, squatting can bring in some money but you wouldn't be able to sell enough to make it worth doing. So that leaves you with doing something with them. For emailing, domains were my best friend since the ESPs like to ban them rather quickly and I needed to churn and burn.

Well if you've bought and lost 5 domains it was kind of a waste of money. So, no. Not intelligent.

I've renewed the same domain for the last 5 years and haven't done shit with it yet. That's smart.

someone shared a nice method here. I am sorry I can't remember his username to link you to the exact method but this is what I got from it:

1. hunt for businesses... start-ups that you think will be successful
2. buy the TLD's for their brand name and park them
3. after they're a huge success sell those to them

facebook.org = facebook.com and I'm quite sure Zuckerberg didn't buy the whole domain package when it started...

it's a fun thing to do and you can even do it as a hobby... basically you're 'betting' on start-ups without investing a huge amount of money into it.

It really depends on your plans and purpose. If you just register without using them then its pointless.

You should start using the domains because google PR update has gone, So now it's time to start new blogs. You can earn good amount if you start them and write some high quality posts. You can earn via guest posts and many more thing.

try to invest your time in creating HQ content or get service from gigs to get content for earning money from those domains..

That is called domain squatting. If you try to sell the domain, they can go to the high courts of ICANN/whatever authority and take the domain from you.

Here is the correct method that will make you rich:

1. hunt for businesses... start-ups that you think will be successful
2. invest in the businesses
3. after they're a huge success get a private island & lambo & girlfriend
