I am impressed. Even though I'm still trying to figure out the specifics on the "how" of a lot of this (being new to scraping), I get the "why" - and I get the fact that this tool can help tremendously. Hopefully someone can shed a bit of light on some questions that I'm having so I can get on with the "how"
For starters, I'm confused about adding in keywords... both in general with regard to FpF and specifically with combining it with GScraper. I'll try to explain my confusion...
With FpF (I got the upgrade which allows for the permutations), I can easily generate LOTS of footprints. I mean in a matter of minutes I have 10's of thousands of footprint combinations, even after trimming down to the higher percentage snippets. If I now add a just a dozen keywords (much less 100s or 1,000s of keywords) onto each of those footprints.... the numbers just get ridiculous! LOL
Plus, what I really don't get is that aren't I better off using JUST the footprints? I mean using team74's example from above, wouldn't I find more and better targets using just
"contact us", "forgot your password?" and
"keep me logged in" than if I used those PLUS added in random keywords, so searching for
"contact us", "forgot your password?", "keep me logged in" and "dog" or
"contact us", "forgot your password?", "keep me logged in" and "tile"? What am I missing here? (I'm sure it's right under my nose... sorry for being dense.)
My next question is about using these footprints specifically about GScraper (I'm new to GScraper too).
It seems that I can't scrape in GS without using keywords to append on to my footprints. If that's the case, then I either need to do just a few keywords (or even just 1) so that I can get through the quantity of quality FpF generated footprints (but that also include that 1 keyword), OR I add a bunch of keywords, which exponentially explodes my footprint list, taking forever to scrape (for example, I stopped one scrape after ~24 hours after it had 8 MILLION results... and it was only something like 5% complete!)
Even after that massive scrape (massive in my mind - I know others work with far bigger numbers...), then de-duping domains and adding them to GSA SER, I didn't see my list of verifieds really increase that much.
I have no doubt this is a case of "user error"... I think between FpF, GScraper and SER, I should be able to put together a pretty lethal combination... But so far, it's just killing ME try to figure it out! LOL
Thanks in advance for any help, advice, guidance etc.
