As most people have told you, you should use HostGator. WordPress also has more benefits compared to other platforms and one of the most significant is it's a favorite of Google. It is also recommended, especially to beginners because they are easy to setup and navigate.

I have been with bluehost and host gator for 5 years. I decided to use bluehost for my reseller account. In my experience,bluehost has given me much better support, although I cannot complain about Host gator, I have not used their support except a few times, whereas I have many sites on bluehost, so I have dealt with them before.

There are threads in this forum where you can get free hosting on some members reseller accounts, if you want to do so.

If you sign up with me for a year on my reseller account, I will install Wordpress for you as a professional courtesy, and set up the appropriate plugins and a few premium themes that I have developer rights to. I am sure others here will do the same for you.

I would highly recommend purchasing hosting from your favorite website and installing wordpress. Google loves wordpress.

Coming to the point, Wordpress can be made for SEO if worked on properly. You can't expect a crappy ever-loading theme with no (ill) titles, meta / microdata to rank on top. I am not saying I know how to rank them, but it is a fact that most of the big tech/health/<insert your niche here> blogs are made using Wordpress.

I am not against HTML / custom PHP or anything for that matter, but yes I have worked on some great WP blogs for sure and I know how awesome they are . Trust me on this.

What I do is that I host all of my domains from Godaddy and I point the name severs (hosting) to my host gator hosting. Hostgator provides a cPanel, and you can use the installation software to download Wordpress. You can also manually download Wordpress by uploading the files.

Stay away from hostgator, bluehost, hostmonster, justhost. EIG Servers Under DDoS Attack. Do a search on google and see for yourself. Moved all my site this week.
