Agreed. I've noticed that "black hatters" can be extremely moralistic and judgemental. They do what they do "in private", but make a big public show about being honest, etc... Their self-righteous moral code is supposed to apply to everyone BUT THEM, lol. Do you mean advertisers? If so yes, some of them do shave. Mostly email/zip submit offers. Even more so if they do a quality check and see that it's garbage traffic from like twitter. I've seen this first hand with my own stats, from twitter back in the day. Is it fair? Nope, but you figure out ways around it like I did, and do your own zip submit, make your own backend, and you've just made a list and possibly got leads from the backend itself.
They can do that just fine by themselves, and they'll do it any fucking way they like, honest or dishonest, fair or unfair, they don't give a fuck about anyone but themselves and so when someone shows up here to a supposedly "black hat forum" and wants to treat them with the exact same self-centered perspective, all the sudden a bunch of hysterical little girls get their underwear all wadded up, they start shrieking wildly and peeing uncontrollably.
Funny that you say that. The network I work for, does not shave. The networks I work with, do not shave. I have done TONS of split testing on networks to see which ones shave, convert better, etc. Do the majority of networks shave? Yep. Do I send them traffic? Nope. Why? Because I'm not a moron. Do your homework and weed out the bad networks, and stick with good networks. It's a shame so many networks do shave, but after being on the am side of things, you start to understand why. I'm not saying it's right by any means, which is why who I'm with has it disabled. I know where I came from, and I'll always be for black hat but there is a huge difference in black hat and fraud. If you can't see that then you have some serious issues. As for "not giving a fuck about anyone but themselves", I've sacrificed a ton for my publishers. I have people from BHW who text me at 4 AM to approve a campaign. What do I do? I get my ass up out of bed and approve them for whatever it is. I know there are other AM's and owners that do the same thing for other networks as well. Saying every network out there doesn't give a shit is stupid.
On a side note, I do know of other networks that have went poof in the past couple years that I've met at the shows. Do you know what happened to some of them? Some retarded dipshit decides to send them fraud traffic, the network pays out their publishers, and then the advertiser doesn't pay them. That happens multiple times, then they don't have the capital to pay out in the end and people who are sending real leads end up not getting paid in the end. How many threads have popped up here about that? Copeac (which btw, fuck them they stiffed me for 5k), EWA/Blam, etc.. I'm not saying that is what happened with those specific networks, but people end up getting fucked over because of stupid assholes like the OP. It's not that damn hard to make 3.00 legitly for free. I could throw something up and within 2-3 minutes have made that. This shit baffles me that you would be all for someone frauding, which could cause to possibly even you not getting paid. :shrug:
