Guys: Kindle is the Ticket!

Maybe I'm doing it wrong or the German speaking market is not as profitable (yet) as the English speaking one.

Why don't you have the ones that are up translated to English? I would imagine that English would be the larger market since there are many countries that speak it. Just a thought. :)

I can add you to the Kindle Skype group. I big thing we will be doing in this group is review exchanges. Meaning if you review one of my works, I will review your book. Reviews are a huge boost in promotion.

thanks aldoraine , i added you to my skyp list , please accept the request from me

Sometimes the Amazon store will have very sporadic updates. One time it will take an hour before a new book is live, the next time it'll take 24 hours. Who knows why, but just be patient and it should resolve itself.

GODBLUTHJD can you tell me if i need to also send ITIN information by acquiring ITIN number along with W-8BEN if i am NOT a US citizen and i live in other country? OR just W-8BEN will be enough to get the reduced tax witholding?

thanks

Yea I'll do that, I just thought I'd start with the German market because it's my native language and there's less competition..

I'd like to be part of the skype group aswel.. very interested in the review exchanges

regards

How graphic can the erotica be? One of my books got blocked for containing "pornographic material", although I don't know if it was the pictures or the words. Looking at some of the other books on the marketplace you wouldn't think this would be an issue.

OmegaX06 - I'd be willing to bet that it was because of the pictures. My book was submitted and up on Amazon within 24 hours and it detailed the sex to completion... So, I'd lose the images and try again.

I'm willing to exchange 5 star reviews for those interested. You can add me on Skype, omega.blackhat. I can even write the review for you, just need someone to post it from another account that qualifies.

Hey OmegaX06 - What sort of stuff are you writing?

Guys, how are your sales going?

I got two books up now and made 9 sales in the last two days, both books at 2.99€ price.
Hope it goes on like that!

One of my recent books is getting 100+ downloads an hour. It's number 160 on the free kindle store..which is pretty amazing since it's such a niche subject. Should I let the free promotion keep going? It still has over 4 days left. I just hope it doesn't run out of steam and gets some sales once the promo ends.

Awesome thread. I've got 6 books going so far, 5 non-fiction and 1 fiction.

The fictional one is killing all the non-fiction books in downloads and sales. Are you having more success selling fiction or non-fiction?

Hmmm... I must be doing something wrong. Listed book to run as free for 5 days, has an awesome cover, great story, and I have one positive review... but in the three days I have had it up, it's only been downloaded 165 times. Perhaps its the teaser? It's just two sentences... should it be more? I know that you're not supposed to load fiction blurbs with keywords...

What's your question?

Hi,

I read your thread and I really appreciate your help. I even started a journey thread based on it, but I haven't been updating it because I was not well; now I'm fine, and I'd like to get things going. Can you clear some of my doubts?

1. You said you wouldn't sell a 5000 word book for $2.99. So, how long does the book have to be, a non-fiction book I mean, to be sold at $2.99? I mean, the minimum word count.

2. Also, how do you select your niches? Can you give some pointers on that? Where do you look to get ideas for profitable niches with low competition?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I just put a new book up. Anyone want to do a review exchange during the free period? PM me. I'd even be willing to do a 2.99 review exchange with someone.

At first my non-fiction was doing better, but I was writing it all myself and it was time consuming. Now I'm 99% outsourcing fiction and it's doing very well.

Yes. Two sentences is way too short. People won't know anything about it after two sentences, so they're unlikely to buy something when they really don't even know what they're buying.

1. There is no minimum word count, but from experience, and as a consumer, I wouldn't spend $2.99 on anything less than 10,000 words. And even that's pushing it. The exception is erotica - people that buy that will spend $2.99 on 5-10k words, but I haven't seen that happen in non-fiction.

2. I don't really select niches anymore. I found a few in the beginning that work and now I just expand into those niches with my different pen names to build that name up as an authority in that niche. Then again, I don't do as much non-fiction these days, so specific, tightly-honed niches are less important in my fiction work.

I guess there's a niche hunter software someone is developing on this board. Maybe someone else can comment on the worthiness of that?
