I'm thinking about trying out the Google Disavow tool and am interested to know if anyone here tried to use it and can tell me how/if it affected his ranks or domain authority.
The 'ranking doomsday' messages they put when you're about to use the tool, have managed to stop me from using it so far and I'm wondering if there's any truth behind these warnings.

For me this worked on one site and not on another. Haven't figured out why yet. Both were Wordpress blogs with unique content and I had used the same method for link building.

Site rank was almost restored to original position - not the same though

Was it a big list of links?
Mine includes hundreds of links (old owner of domain did article syndication)

Is there some precautions to take along, Coz i am worried of things which i use for the first time. Any links for a complete guide?

This is Google's help page for the tool:

This is the tool itself (you need to be logged in your GWT account):

It's not very complicated to use, however, since it's new, its implications are not obvious yet.

This is why I uploaded the question here, to try and understand it better :)

Thanx for these links man.

I dont know whether it would be good using this or not. I bought a service recently which ranked me for a while and then i was nowhere. I am thinking to remove links came out of it.

Well I went ahead and used the tool. The sky didn't fall yet, hopefully it will have good results.
I'm trying to contact the sites' owner for removing the links as well, just for the safe side.
If I'll have updates I'll keep you updated.

Till now it works only if you use it very soon after you get bad links.

You mean you've actually tried both options and noticed a difference?
That sounds really interesting but it's hard to believe Google will restrict the tool's expansion like that.

Used it but hasn't seemed to have done much yet. Been about 3 weeks.

i accidently blasted 30k blog comment to my moneysite, lucky enough i had the report
