Thank you, thank you, thank you - I've been wanting to self-publish on Amazon for years now. It's time to get started. ​INSPIRED.

I write non-fiction only. These are topics that people don't care who the author is. They are after the information. That's the key. Write something about a topic that people are actively searching for information about (easy enough, with Google Keyword Tools). They type that keyword in on the Kindle store. Boom. There my books are. They don't care if John Grisham wrote it, or Joe Nobody. They just want the information.

@GotBluthJD, What is the best ebook writer you'd suggest? I wrote everything in word 2013, but when I tried to convert in kindle format with calibre, it gave out some annoying result, like everything was messed up. Any suggestion would be considered atm.

You don't need to use calibre to convert word. You can upload a word doc directly the KDP publishing site. It formats it for you automatically, and is actually really good and easy.

I have a blog that I occasionally mention a few of my books on. But that's it, in terms of SEO outside of amazon. If you set up your keywords, categories, and description within Amazon, they do the work of getting people to your page.

How about using youtube for traffic??? creating book trailers and upload using tools to send traffic to amazon page.. also what do you suggest for reviews??? I was thinking of forming a private group that were all kindle publishers and we could all leave reviews for each other.. type of thing

Can you give some hints at how on earth you can get quality writers at 30 bucks for a whole book? I used odesk before, but was never impressed with the work. The best were just average. And I did not find a single person who did not make obvious grammatical and/or spelling errors for simple tasks.

Robs guide to Kindle success

1. Write 10000 words about something you needed info on and had to research on line and there are already ebooks on kindle relating to it= others will have wanted same info-someones done some research and theres a demand at amazon.
Hint find a researcher/writer= pay a student or school kid to find 10 things you never knew about.......
Hint ( perhaps how to make money on Fiverr?)
Hint What were the last 10 things your friends / family researched on line. Did they spend more than 30 minutes doing it? How much do they earn an hour? = Ebook save them time= money. ( nothing time specific as it will run out of steam before your book is online)
Hint Buy top 5 cheap books in a category read- figure out whats missing- provide in own book and price higher than others.....sticks out cos more expensive and explain your providing missing info.....
Hint Internet begging
Hint Forum Marketing
Hint Check the article directories where the W*nker Forum people continue wasting their time writing articles....find the top 10 subjects...grab top 10 articles and completely re write- not spin- spun content = bye bye amazon. If people are writing a lot of content about a subject and building a website it means people want information about it and want it in one place = an ebook.
2. Convert to word no extra lines
3. Pay someone to make a nice cover do not make yourself- it will look like crap
4. Upload image and document to KDP
5. Join kindle select
6. Make free for 5 days
7. Earn money after 5 days...no blogs...social bookmarking.....promotions etc. What part of Amazon is a huge search engine designed for BUYERS that automatically indexes and ranks your content are you missing here?

I did this as an experiment and whilst free book was getting 100+ downloads a day......

Wash rinse and repeat= money

Alternatively......continue writing begging posts here and ignoring fact that his ebook is no longer free because clowns hacked his site = no money

Seriously if you spent less time begging here and more time looking around you you would make some coin.....Before anyone asks no I am not writing an ebook and giving it away free here....or responding to PMs.:sheep:

I am signing up on KDP and I need to know what should I use in Full Name/Company name? I don't have a publishing company and I don't want to show my name? Can I use any random name as my Company name? If I use my own name, will it be displayed publicly as Publisher's name? Pls help.

I've been wanting to get into Kindle for a while now. There's so much you can write about it on it and a few people I spoke to have been writing internet marketing guides in the non fiction section and making a good amount of profit.
