I know the answer but I'm interested in your input in this possible method. 264,000 views?

How many FB shares do you think it would take for a good post to go viral? Let's consider that the FB accounts are actual people with a decent amount of friends? I've been searching for a facebook share:view ratio but I can't find them. Especially because whenever I type 'Facebook shares' into Google it assumes I'm talking about stocks.

I wonder how many views a YouTube videos would get if it was shared 1,000 times. If you assumed that each account would garner 3 views on average it would be 3,000 obviously. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a specific threshold that can be reached. I have a friend that has 88,000 shares on one of her posts and scumbag facebook wont give her any stats on that post because it was from a personal account. Any idea on how many views she may have? With my previous equation it would be 264,000. But something tells me that if 88,000 people shared something it would get a lot more views than 264,000. Then again, that equation is something that I borrowed and it may be based upon unique views.

264,000 views may make sense. I've hit the front page of a subreddit with somewhere around 88,000 people and have gotten nearly the same amount of views on imgur but Reddit and imgur are different animals.

UGH there are so many variables. lol

Does anyone have a successful account that would like to give some input?

This isnt a full reply to your post, I would just like to add that going viral on facebook is not as hard as it was. I posted a picture of a photoshopped girl and it got 13k likes in an hour or 2, it's all about posts that are reletable to the majority of facebook users, something I guess I have at 16 years old.

There are many variables. I am not sure but I think there was a great post about that on Seomoz or quicksprout.com. Try to search there.

Yes you do have it but facebook at 16 is different from facebook when you're 23. When you're 16 you're still in high school and still connected with tons of people everyday. When you get older the people you know get older and get jobs, go away to school and get busy.

Also the thing is with Facebook marketing, everyone's social circle is different. My social circle isn't that crazy about social media. I can't tell you how many fans I have that are too lazy to create a youtube account to leave a comment or subscribe to my channel. lol

For this reason I went to twitter to increase my reach to young teens. Since then I've gotten a lot more support.

You are correct though, content is King. I've been able to get 100 likes on my personal account just by writing something witty and releasing it at the correct time.

Oh awesome, I'll make sure to check that out.
