Speaking about sharing.
A lot of people keep speaking about making video on youtube, getting on Pinterest, etc, etc.
Remember, making video itself is a quite a work (and I'm not even talking about getting it upfront the people!)
What always surprises me is that nobody is talking about content discovery platforms that went online over the last couple of years.
Every single successful content website is using them - you probably saw all these "Read more" & "You may also like" sections on the news portal.
Well, here is the list of places for you to start.
They all are free to use, and were very effective!
Here's short review on my favorite content discovery (should I call them advertising?) services:
1. Nster
New guys on the block - if you need highly targeted audience then this is the place for you to start.
They will get your content in front of vast number of relevant websites.
Good part about Nster is that you can either do exchange or you can buy clicks.
Exchange rates are surprisingly good - it's at least 120%, as they say on their website, but I've heard that the content is good rates will be much higher.
Obviously, since it's a new company - prices are as low as they can be.
Traffic quality is good - they give geo-filters for you to work with.
Another thing is that their widget is completely customizable, which means that you can make it look like a part of your website.
Last but not least, is the content rotation - if you have traffic but your bounce rate is skyrocketing, you can set up their plug in to show your most popular articles and keep people read some more.
2. Nrelate
Used to be decent company (before Ask acquired it)
Nrelate is also helping to increase PPV (but they only talk about 5%-12% increase which is nothing)
Right now, Nrelate mostly work if you have substantial budget to buy traffic, and your website is in "Arts & Entertainment" section
Traffic quality is good - no bots, no extreme bouncing.
Their widget looks good - neat and simple. Nothing special, but doesn't irritate as well.
3. Linkwithin
If you're the cook - this place is for you. No, seriously! Linkwithin has a lot of yummies-related blog in it's network.
Widget looks very similar to Nrelate - simple and nice.
Big ache about Linkwithin, is that their widget is blog-oriented (I couldn't get it running on my websites).
Customization is also giving some troubles, since it's limited to text editing.
4. Zemanta
Free to use - which is good.
Has quite a few blogs in its network - even though its nowhere close to 300k+ as they claim.
Widget is simple, as well as it's embedding into blog.
Couldn't figure out how to get it working on the website though, and their support is silent.
Overall, nice looking small content discovery service for small blogs - you won't get a lot of clicks.
But hey, it's for free so why not?
5. Engageya - found this one couple days ago, but haven't tried yet.
