Guys: Kindle is the Ticket!

I've sold 79 books today, if that helps. I have 21 books online currently

Right so figuring (minimally) at least $2.99 x 70% x 79 = wtf why aren't I doing this already m'self?

I think some are missing a major benefit of all of this. People go to Amazon looking for information KNOWING it is sold there so they are in a buying mood as a oppose to a clicking mood ( i.e bored and wandering).

That means any books we write need to be for what people want on AMAZON.

=First thing to look at is what they are buying on Amazon.
= need to identify a reliable step by step method of checking this??

I have seen people suggesting research at clickbank, Google trends, Buzz etc........pointless IMHO as they are different markets. Clickbank items are promoted and bought via a sales funnel. Amazon items are bought as a result of readers desires on Amazon people Buy...Clickbank items are sold.

But something to think about I met a top IM about 5 years ago who mentioned a Russian guy who had a team of VA's being supplied on a daily basis with the top sellers in every category on CB. They then rewrote them, created digests courses etc and then SOLD them ON clickbank.

I guess the lesson is why re invent the wheel? Get the top 10 books on something that interests you on Kindle, read, make notes and produce a "better/Advance/dummies/idiot" guide.

It is significant again IMHO that Brian Kumar who?s been pimping PLR and "content" for years has indicated if he was starting out he wouldn't even bother creating websites hoping to game G before getting humped by big G despite producing decent content...and why give decent content away for FREE so G can rape your site?

DR Andy Williams, who is probably the most current "SEO" expert, who has been in the biz for ten years ( and still has to write a blog to keep his readers happy and earn a living) has recently revealed he's making more from Kindle books than he EVER has from SEO and wordpress..........

How many SEO experts and IM's have suddenly gone quiet? Or moved on to "coaching" aka"Emptying pockets of those who should know better" - I suspect many are churning out ebooks using outsource workers. The key in future is going to be either identifying topics- not niches or stirring up interest in topics for example on social sites and offering information via Kindle maybe?

Do you want 1000 bored no-hopers vaguely interested in your site as visitors or 50 hard core focused, subject specific, potential buyers reading your pitch at Amazon a day?

I would be interested to see any results from anyone trying this with Apple and Ibooks. Huge market - one benefit of Ibooks is you can copy and paste sections when making notes I can?t seem to do that with kindle books - so I convert kindle to Ibooks using Calibre ( free).

When researching, building, creating ebooks mindmapping and Evernote are your friends- use a mind mapping app ( look at wikipea there?s a lot listed free) to plan out ideas then save it as an outline= stick in evernote and use the sections as notebooks to store content you find.....I must write a guide about this lol- but checking on Amazon there would be no interest or sufficient sales to justify doing so.

Fiction? I am tempted to buy some story outlines and then write the story- then my mind thinks well why not just get the plot of a successful movie from say IMDB- change goody/baddy/location/period and re write?

This is a fantastic idea, and frankly bigger than a thread on blackhatworld.
You should have you own kindle publishing forum.

The next step would be to get all the books translated to the most popular and monetarily strong languages.
Spanish, French, German, Russian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Italian

So many ideas and possibilities lay ahead, fun times indeed!

Do both. Release the short stories individually, priced lower. Then, combine them all into an anthology, price it much higher. People will buy both.

If I knew anything about setting up a forum, I would Heck, I'd even be happier with just a Kindle sub-forum here! (But not sure who controls that sort of thing...)

And yes, you are absolutely right. Translations, or just foreign language books in general, are rising incredibly fast. As more markets open up to Kindle, the opportunities for books in another language are endless. If you take some of the biggest-selling non-fiction books (crap like, how to get killer abs, or how to lose weight), if you search for it in another language, chances are there will be 98% less competition.

Of course, you really need to speak the 2nd language yourself, to edit properly, or find an outsourcer you can trust. Too many people claim they can translate, and then just run things through Google translate, with terrible results.

A great method, and one of which I am currently testing @ the moment.

I have uploaded a book on to kindle, and have enrolled for KDP too.

The book is in the fitness niche, and has been downloaded just over 240 times over 2 days... which I don't know is good or not?

Could you give some insight on what to do after the free period is over? or were to do some marketing?

Yes, there's a Kindle cloud reader too, where you can just read it on your computer. Lots of potential customers out there.

And yes, I write in Word and upload that directly to KDP. So you can definitely do that.

It depends how much I trust the writer and/or if I have worked with them before. If they're new, I'll hire them for a smaller project and I'll give them an outline with the topics they should be covering. If it's someone I've had success with before, I'll just give them the topic, maybe a few pointers, but usually I'll let them go wild with it on their own. It's a long process to find someone you can trust that much though, so I'd start off with outlines.

20-200 pages is the Kindle count, posted on the books pages. Not sure how that translates from Word pages (I never really look, since Kindle doesn't print word pages). I pay more attention to the word count.
