I was just wondering what everyone does to keep track of all their usernames, passwords, articles, keywords..... for each project.

I've found that staying organized and remembering everything is a big issue. I usually just keep everything for each project in 1 excel file. I have different tabs for keyword list, tier 1 links, spun blog comments, etc....

I used to keep it all in a .txt file but that was a disaster. Does anyone use anything better then just a simple Excel file?

I myself use .txt files and different folders, never had a an issue with it.

Why was using a .txt file a disaster?

Usernames and passwords - Memorized
Articles - Evernote or Google Docs
Keywords - Evernote or Google Docs.

An advantage here is everything is synced from my computer to phone so I can access anything anywhere.

Try these... Txt file and desktop Excel is so outdated :)

everything is divided in folders by groups - articles, wikis, .... in each folder there is a .txt with the used user/pass/email and any other info...

works like a charm and is easy to backup - simply zip up the main folder and copy to my backup hdd

I use a pen and a notebook (made out of papers not gigabytes). Never let me down

1. Project Bubble
2. Excel Master Spreadsheet
3. About a million little scraps of paper on my desk lol :) (they tend to pile up until I can transfer them to the spreadsheet)

You can find some software online that help you orgainze
I use notebook and i look at it Once a day in the morning and this kinda help me start right
But i always end up with a lot of stuff is not on the notebook lol

Alcohol, Excel, a Password Utility and MS Outlook Notes, got hundreds of notes that's why I need the alcohol!

I like the idea of keeping everything online using Google Docs. No more having to email myself txt files.

Basecamp and Project Bubble look pretty cool, but i'm not paying $20+ a month for that.

Project Bubble is just good if you have clients that need to be kept in the loop...

As far as personal info like passwords, etc...excel spreadsheets and paper/pen do the trick

.txt files are the way to go they are the future! maybe the past but still the future!

I use a notebook for username and passwords, and Excel for backlinks

Evernote is great, very easy quick and secure....

On the PC use doc and xls files along with notepad...

Yep, all the best ideas come from a pen and a piece of paper. I find that writing and planning on paper helps me distinguish offline and online mode. When I was working without a pen and paper, quite often I would just fire up the computer without knowing what the fuck I was doing and end up getting distracted by all sorts of crap - click, click click and suddenly 5 hours have passed without achieving what I actually wanted.

+1

Having a physical notebook helps you get more concentration, and tells your brain you're doing something important.

google spreadsheet, 1 main ss with 50 sheets in it. No downtime if if worstcase pc crash and have to format hardrive.
