How to avoid Twitter flagging/suspending/banning your account

Hi all, I thought it was a good idea to group on a thread all sort of tips to avoid hitting the twitter wall and getting flagged/suspended/banned. I guess most of us know twitter rules, but here I am talking of best practices and numeric limits that shouldn't be hit, based on your personal experience.

For example: you get flagged if you follow more than 1000 people per day, but their limit may vary, depending also if it's a repeated behavior, associated with repeated mass-unfollows. I personally consider "safe" to follow/unfollow not more than 600 x day.

What are your tips and best practices?

I follow about 1000 accounts everyday without problems, but my accounts are pretty old. No spam is the key

I've tested some metrics and I got suspended after 200 followers at 1 to 8 seconds a follow. This is also an account that has been suspended before. However, this would be a great thread to see how others are varying.

This is the key.

Use multiple threads and each thread waits at least 1 minute or longer in between folllows.

I made Imacro for add me fast.
what I was doing is:
Imacro for facebook likes and pinterest. after collecting points I spent them in adding followers to my twitter account.
Although I didn't use twitter to follow people to much, so after about 15 day I was having 1700 twitter followers, and I was following about 300. my account got suspended!?
is there a role that get you suspended if people following your twitter?

It depends on how mature your account is, how many links you post and how you follow your followers.

If you have a mature account say 3 months old and have several thousand tweets. You can follow up to a 1000 (sometimes a bit more depending on how busy twitter is and how big your account is) manually on twitter, twitter will say you can''t follow anymore, this is not going to get you suspended at all its just there to say thats enough for the next 24 hours.

In your early days as a new account yes if this message comes up several times and your account is a weeks old you are likely to get suspended.

People saying max 50 a day, really!?... maybe when you first start the account but after a week of tweeting constantly, 50 a day won't get you any followers over time.

Is also how fast you add them especially early on. If you have a new account and add say 10 followers a hour. Youre probably not going to get suspended.

If you add followers to your account and its just started and youre only posting links. People have got suspended from that but if youve been on twitter long enough you probably wont get suspended.

Also I personally dont unfollow people till:

A) either at least 3 days after theyve followed
B)They are Eggs
C) They havent been on twitter for a while say 30 days

This is important if you follow then unfollow quickly youre going to get suspended.

I don't use scripts or anything like that because
1) I don't know how all that works
2)I believe my method which allows me to get 500+ followers a day works
3)If youre using scripts or bots. Im not sure how far in you can get suspended
4)I only use twitter programs on the net


These are basic tips on how to gain followers.

I have 150,000 plus (non bought followers)with around 25,000 tweets and my account is nearly 2 years old. My tweets regularly get around 100+ retweets now.

I've never been suspended on that account but I have on others that i've made mistakes/tested on, So I'd like to think I know what im talking about.

UPDATE: I did new tests, and i found the maximum performance. In other words, i found the maximum limit to send MENTIONS!!!!!!! I lost 500 accounts to find this limitations: March/2013 limitation in twitter is 5 accounts per IP and if you want to know how to avoid getting suspended, not necessary follow lots of steps, they just changed 1 thing, and i will tell you in PRIVATE, but more fast if you add me on facebook, my LINK ID is "rafaelfonsecajp" --> facebook (dot) com /rafaelfonsecajp

The account "mature" doesn't matter, the problem is VEEERY simple, i tell you in private, add me!

I'm running 5 accounts per IP, sending between 3 to 5 "MENTIONS" per hour, per account, using 500 Private proxies, running total of 2.500 accounts ( 5 accs per IP ). This method works with brand new non-verified accounts, without photos, without bios, 100% brand new non-verified accounts. THE METHOD IS VERY SIMPLE, ASK ME HOW IN PRIVATE, MORE FASTER IN FACEBOOK.

2 weeks running and working fine. It's unbelivable, the problem is VERY VERY VERY SIMPLE, add me on facebook then i tell you exactly how to do. ;D

I have a question that I didn't think was worthy of a new thread so I'll stick it here.

I have ten accounts on 1 IP, 7 of which I just use to RT and Favorite my 3 main accounts, whats the risk of me getting banned? The other 7 just basically sit in TweetAdder and FAV/RT.

Update: I got my account (2 months old) suspendend for following less than 200 people with 5 secs delay between follows (with tweet adder).... now I am worried for the other account I have, more old, for which I use tweet adder as well from the same computer/ip. The content I am posting is absolutely original, useful, I join the conversation etc, so no automated tweet at all. Let's see if they will reactivate the account, I'll get really angry if they don't! What do you suggest me to do to avoid being blocked again?

Take at least one day off, or very lightly per week. Only ever had accounts suspended for unfollowing a large number, even though i had waited 6 days to unfollow them
