I've just opened my first one yesterday, I got a premium template, and everything looks great. 18 Articles.

I even found a competitor who is ranking high for a longtail with a terrible site, who i just took their article, and spun it better. Buying another domain again today. Aint no procrastination going on over here brother and sisters!

I currently have two Amazon sites semi set up. I am interested in building these two small sites into profitable authority sites, however alot of my IM ventures in the past have not had the level of success I expected or hoped for. I like the idea of high quality Amazon sites, however I heard you have to spend 2-3 months to see any earnings. This is is a huge discouragement to me, however how can you tell your site is actually going to make money later on?

You want to know if your site is going to convert visitors into buyers. How bout testing it using PPC, get a G adwords $100 voucher so your cost will be very minimal. But then you need to learn how to do PPC correctly, more stuff to learn.

what is the average conversion rate on amazon? i just started couple month ago and i have had 10% conversion month, 4% conversion month....i would like to know what would be your best rough "average" conversion rate of all your niche sites combined.

I normally average 10-20% for the longest time - but last month I dropped back to 7% which is the lowest I've seen for about a year ... although thinking about it - it was probably because of the CL Ad test I ran where I got a tonne of traffic but no Sales.

If you got conversions under 3% then you know that the traffic is poor quality and not targeted - good sites are going to be 10% or above ... google traffic really is quality compared to some of these others.

Thats a pretty good idea really - if you want to test your site - then get $100 coupon and fire some PPC traffic at it .. and see how it works out.

hi Danny, Can i just ask how many products roughly do you put on the site at first before adding more if the site is working. Im going to rewrite the amazon descriptions etc and change the pics rather than use Wprobot at first. I have written 4 (best blah blah - how to blah blah) articles and added a few text links and image links in the article to the products. Would it be the way to go to now write another 4 articles about 4 particular products with links in?

I would do 3-4 products 1 page of accessories - then 4-5 articles about the products/niche/choosing - long tail descriptive stuff
then just organize it on the site so it makes sense.

I saw someone yesterday use a review theme - but didn't organize it well and it did not look good .. so lesson to learn there.

well for me when I'm selling $1000 product and it has no reviews it tells me there is no "buzz" about the product and few people want to buy it.

when I am buying accessories for my Ipad - I read reviews of the products before I buy them - but not on Amazon -- same if I was buying a replacement pool pump I would be sure that I had the perfect one for my set up -- people ask all sorts of questions before they buy items -- just find some good ones.

Note/Suggestion :

Every time I suggest people spend money to make money - or talk about a tool that's not free I seem to cop quite a bit of Flak for even suggesting it.

But I'm going to keep going with my suggestions anyway because at the end of the day after you make some money your going to be looking for ways to speed up your whole process and reduce the amount of time needed to do this.

So my suggestions for those are :

1. CMS Commander which to manage 50 sites is $224 a year - basically you can set up a site with plugins/themes in a few clicks - can update everything in a click and can log into a site in a click -- its a breeze to use and other options/software exists to do a similar thing but you can check those out.

2. Ubot - I have the standard edition for which I paid $189. The best way to describe Ubot is if it is done in a browser or its a simple windows command you can automate it - in like a macro. You can then turn that into a program/desktop shortcut and then just run it each time you want that action done. Also if a site changes you can just go back and edit it to fix the changes and recreate the program again. Now I'm not going to sit here and say look you can learn this in a day - you have to play around with it - and you need clear defined problems to solve -- but once you have those in mind its not hard to build some hugely time saving tools for this project or others. If you want to learn more just go to youtube and check out the videos to see what it can do.

why does the amazon commission tracker keeps resetting? My monthly earnings disappear when there's clearly items tracked as sold, then it reappears in a different amount...what gives?!?

Amazon Reporting has gone downhill alot lately but I'll make a few comments

* you can't buy through your own links - it might register initially but they will take it away
* friends and family can't buy through your links - or they will take the commission away
* different items have different commissions in some cases - electronics / and these 3rd party seller items
* also I sometimes see an item sold at $599.99 and then the price drops to $549.99 - Amazon has a policy where the buyer gets the lowest price - so they get refunded the difference - and I get paid on $549.99
* you also have preorder items where the price goes up and down during the period - but the buyer is always given the lowest price during the pre-order when it ships.

I have mentioned this a few times - I personally don't do 4% items or items that are restricted in commissions - because as my Sales rise I want the maximum payouts -- sure I still sell some by accident but I focus my attention on items where the more I sell the more I earn -- up to their cap.

Also make no mistake about it -- you gotta sell alot to really make money in Amazon -- it's not the 50% comissions you get in Clickbank -- but it can be really consistent earnings when your sites rank well.

Although I'm unsuccessful so far, I've always wanted to do Amazon websites/stores. I'm turning 18 soon so I can finally sign up for an account. Plus, I'll have a job so I can invest a bit of money into it Right now I'm searching for some Amazon related threads on BHW to learn as much as I can.

I know I'll mess up, but what can I do to see some success? What should I avoid? How did you get started?

I got started by actually building some sites and finding out what worked and what didn't .. I did just about everything by hand and learned all the things I needed to know but didn't.

You should read all the Amazon threads - as I really don't want to just repeat myself over and over..... create a process and scale.

This is really a question that is like not related to the thread title man...
The guy is helping us out with Amazon related stuff.
If you are not sure what to cook tomorrow for lunch dont ask him here, you have other places for these kindda questions.

/e: and yes, OF COURSE, you should always have a logo, thats like no question to ask, Logo will give people something visual to remember about your site/brand.
