EDIT - Just tested it and providing you don't enter the configuration panel in proxy harvester it seems to work fine. I just tested it by running 300 connections and it worked, but bare in mind what I said about it running through Scrapebox's servers. They might not to be happy about you running it higher than 200 connections.

Ah! ok I'll check that out because I have been opening up the config panel to check my setting to see if they changed. By the way it's ok with them to do this because Sweetfunny posted on one of my threads that I can open it up to whatever I like. Thank you so much for the help!

What do you think about the 'Socks' column? I added sources from a lot of SOCKS sources and not one of them gave me a 'Y', while when I scrape and check these same sources using Zennoposter proxy tool and other free proxy checkers I get nothing but straight SOCKS.

Someone might have to correct me on this one, but the socks column isn't a test as to whether the proxy you are testing is a socks proxy, but rather you've marked it as a socks proxy and want scrapebox to treat it as such when testing.

If you want to mark a proxy as socks, either right click a single one or a collection (shift + click) and mark as socks or if the whole list is socks proxies then from the search engines & proxies menu on the main screen click modify and mark all as socks.

No problem. You can use them with scrapebox still by marking them as socks.

scrapebox will use socks and will allow you to mark
a list of proxies as socks so to test them
personally i wouldnt bother as few socks work
with scrapebox

and i wouldn't test at 300 cons because the test
becomes erratic on the results. you will always get
more with lower cons than higher

Trying to buy the automator plugin but keep getting this error from paypal:

Tried with a bank account and debit card, no luck for either... Anyone else have this problem or know any work around? Never seen this error before lol.

Anways, emailed support, was just wondering if anyone else knew any suggestions--any ideas would be appreciated!

EDIT: Holy crap got a reply back in under 10 minutes... turns out it was because I was using a VPS... duh! Anyways, awesome support, awesome product. Now can't wait to get started with the automator!

You can also put an S in front of them and scrapebox will know they are socks. Such as

192.192.192.192

becomes

S192.192.192.192

and then that proxy will auto get the Y flag for marked as socks.

I'm sorry if this was covered before, but i didn't see it after scanning thru this thread and watching a few automator videos... watched them at 3am last night so maybe I missed it... but:

If I want to scrape using, say, 5 footprints and a list of 1000 keywords, and want to use public proxies, I set up automator to use/scrape/test proxies, then begin harvesting.

Now once all of the scraped proxies die, I assume scrapebox marks the project as complete?

How can I make it so it:

Scrapes and tests proxies
Goes thru the list until all proxies have died
Remove the keywords it successfully scraped
Scrape and test new proxies
Use till dead

Etc. Etc. until the whole list has been done?

Yes you can happily use a VPS for SB, as long as it's a Windows one and you make sure to work on the firewall to open it for the proxies and ports you use. Maybe some others will chime in and give you a hint about the best ones. Guys?

Only thing that changed was that they deactivated my old license but the new license is still not activated.

Would be great if someone from scrapebox could take a look at this.

I have been using some semi private proxy lists and seen ~250 urls per second from Google and Yahoo simultaneously(500 total urls/sec) but the proxy sources have somewhat dried up and now I am back to well below that. If you are able to harvest at much higher rates than this my 2nd question would be what proxies are you using? Private?

I'm using 50 private proxies for harvesting using 4-5 connections. Speed is about 40-45 urls/sec but I can harvest almost non stop using this setup without the proxies to die.

I'm not using private proxies to harvest, but as alaltaierii mentioned the average recommended seems to be about 10% of your total amount of proxies. I remember Loopline making a post about it a while ago.

Ive been getting replies no issue. If its not active in 12 hours there is an issue. So either you used up you free transfers for Dec and had to pay and didn't pay to transfer an extra time - you would have gotten emails about this.

Your license was activated fine, and something is blocking your license from authenticating, it could also be blocking the license info from being sent, in which case your license would obviously not be active. However since your old license is inactive that "Seems" unlikely. Add allow rules in all firewalls and anti-virus and delete existing rules.

Your using too old of a version of scrapebox, and you need to update to the latest version.

Support always replies to emails, they have been replying to mine for over 3 years now. Check your spam folder. Whitelist @scrapebox.com - make sure the email address you are giving them is correct (if your entering it into the form).

I get about that speed. I mostly harvest with private proxies. I get between 200-300 urls a second. I have several different proxy providers and jam all their proxies in together. However I also have another private provider option I use mostly now to scrape and get those kinds of speeds. Ill pm you.
