Need to get commission based sales people.. where?

I have been selling, web design, and seo services to offline clients for a couple of months..

I think the next phase would be to get some commission based sales people and reach even more clients, but i am not having any luck finding sales people on craigslist or indeed..

Where do you suggest i go?

I am offering high commission from $100+ per closed lead to over $900+ .. I am not sure what i am doing wrong?.. I know a commission based job is what most people want.. but it is better than nothing right?

any one on BHW interested?? - know of any people who are or sites to post that i am actually going to get good sales people from??

It's hard to find serious people to work strictly for commission. There are a lot of people on craigslist posting the same thing you're offering. % of sales for web design sold. There are other threads on this forum that talk about commission based positions and how they almost never work out. Best advice is to read the forum and find other ways to sell your service.

I would suggest paying a telemarketing company that specializes in lead generation as you will mostly likely not find a commission based sales person.

You've got it wrong. People are very afraid to work commission-based as they are not guaranteed any salary. So if your service seems expensive or anything like that for the others then neither you or the sales man will make money and he won't be able to feed his family. My suggestion is to pay someone a fixed amount of money or outsource the job to a company.

You say you have been doing this for a while. Im guessing you did well if you want to branch out. My suggestion to you is "If you build it, they will come". I don't know if you have an office yet. If not, get one(most people are not going to want to work from home or out of your apt). while your setting up your office get a lead source (Me).

Once you got all your ducks in a row, you pound the pavement. Go offline. The best way i have filled up offices was by flyers on bus stops and other high foot traffic areas. Another good place is half way houses and rehabs. Depending on how much money you have to invest you could also put paid adds on CL/BP and local new papers. It is not hard at all to find 100% commission sales ppl.. The hard part is keeping them.. <== Remember that.

No offense to "Junkfood00" i do not know where he/she is from, but i do know "roro123's" profile says he/she is from NYC (where i was born and raised), And as of now i live in South Florida (Telemarketing capital of America if not the world) id say about 50% of all Jobs in south Florida are 100% commission.

People who take jobs like that are people who want to make it BIG.. People who are not afraid to depend on them selves to make the money they want.. Take wall street for example, Show me ONE stock broker who is paid a salary.. Or at the very least Show me one who started off on anything but 100% commission. Most stock brokerage firms will only give 200$ draws, and will only do that for two weeks.. After that u either work for free till you actually make money or go find a new job.. Trust me when i tell you, there are PLENTY of ppl out who would LOVE to work for 100% commission, Keeping those ppl working for you is the hard part.

I'll weigh in here. We've done cold calling and sales for almost a decade. We have never done commission and will never do it.

Why?

Sales - Because unless it is MY product, I don't know how well it sells, what the demand is, if your pricing is right (and will you listen to me if it isn't) and I am solely dependent on your whim's of what you feel a great product or service is.

Appointments to sales - If I am making commission off of an appointment I set for YOU to sell, I am at the mercy of your sales ability. What is YOUR close rate? Based on your recommendations I qualify an appointment, what if those are wrong and the sale isn't there?

MOST commissioned positions are not for those that want to make lots of money and have the drive...sorry. It's for people that want a quick buck for doing not much and don't know how to create a residual income. You can not like that all you want, but it's true.

As for the OP, hire some sales people, and FIRST teach them how to qualify candidates and find their own appointments. You go sell these appointments and make sure they are qualified (and reap the sales). Second, you start sending them on their own qualified appointments when you KNOW that they can book things that will turn into a sale. Third, ALWAYS pay them hourly. This will afford them a way to live and keep them honest as to what they are turning in. They will also be able to learn how to help you and themselves and you have now created a TEAM that will work for and with you and will not run when the sales aren't rolling in.

Additionally, it makes no sense to pay any telemarketer, telesales or cold caller commission. You will run out of money before you hit your goals. When people pay us by the hour/week/month, they get EVERY lead. Every email address, every "call me next month", every CB tomorrow at 4 (which we do), they get every thing...and they get appointments or sales. If we were being paid commission, we would keep EVERYTHING until we turned it into a sale or appointment...you would get whatever I decided was enough for me to pay my bills for the week...and you would pay lots more for it than you would if you paid me hourly.

We also can't keep up and don't want to depend on people to pay us commissions once they get their payment. Pay me for what I do, and you keep your own money for what you do.

I think that's what people think when they hear commissions! You're hiring people to be cheesy and pushy and "SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY" to your potential customers. Unless that is your goal, it's not who you want representing you...I'd rather have someone trained, respectable and invested representing me!

if your supplying them an office to work from / training and selling materials - then I'd imagine you may get some takers - just to see if they can make money doing it or not - plus they know your legitimate

if your not providing those things then I imagine its going to go nowhere.

Wrong, you can find plenty of people to sell your service, just that you need to offer them some nice income (up to 75% comissions).
Another thing you can do is to focus on SEO, don't go into a fight with the big wolfs, but rather go with the long tail words. SEO if it's done correctly could have a great impact, focus on a 300 easy competition keyword and get a squeeze page ranked there. You might have a nice surprise looking at stas.

Next thing PPC let search engines help you, let's say it's 1$ per targetted visitor and you will be offering a 100$ package (also it's brand awareness).
You will need 1 conversion out of 100 targeted visitors to get money back, 2 conversions out of 100 = ROI (return of income).

And there are plenty more ways of marketing, this was just a quick tip of what is working for me.

My new outlook is to try and partner with someone that has those talents. I will do all the sales/marketing/etc. and they will provide all of the web services. If the biz grows, I am responsible for the sales side and they are responsible for the web team.

So, that's the route/solution I am gonna try to see what happens. If you have interest, I would consider a scenario like this. As I said, I'm looking for that person!

My new outlook is to try and partner with someone that has those talents. I will do all the sales/marketing/etc. and they will provide all of the web services. If the biz grows, I am responsible for the sales side and they are responsible for the web team.

So, that's the route/solution I am gonna try to see what happens. If you have interest, I would consider a scenario like this. As I said, I'm looking for that person!

1- How can I be sure there is money in the leads, and I'm not wasting my time. - Room full of sales champions is social proof that it is being done.

2- How can I be sure that this person will pay me my commissions as agreed. There are a lot of scammers and fraudsters.

By offering to pay a small base you are backing up the quality of your company. You are essentially telling people my company/service is so great and profitable that I can afford to pay base. Not only that, but I know my market so well that I will train and help you to become a star performer. This gives the potential employee peace of mind.

The thread is 2 years old and I replied because to me it is interesting and relevant. I am getting to know the platform and the bhw community.
