Large email list tactics?

Not quite sure where to post this, but I have a rather large collection of emails that I've collected of facebook users. I would like to blast out emails to them for an associate simply to ask recipients to like her facebook page. I'm not sure of the best way to approach this as first, I don't want to stain her reputation or get her in trouble with facebook and secondly, I don't want to really get into "spam" trouble.

What would be the best way to approach this? First, is there a copywriting angle / wording slant that I can take in order to minimize offending people and getting into trouble for such a broadcast?

And secondly, what kind of a service could I use for sending out well over 100,000 emails that would not frown on such behavior?

Whatever you do, it is going to be unsolicited. So rather than going to be in disguise I would suggest to be blunt. Just say "hey, I got your contact from a friend, and I would like to ............."

The best possible would be if you somehow change your subject as "Friend Suggestion"

I agree, this is a good tactic that is not pushy and confrontational (BUY ME!!!!!). What about programs or services to send these mails? Many reliable services will simply not allow this. Is there a solid delivery service that can facilitate the sending of these?

Does facebook have a limit per sending ? I never actually tried that, i know that craigslist have.

@dariobl this isn't sending TO fb, but rather sending to email inviting ppl to fb to like someone. If you do direct fb you will get whacked very quickly for spam.

You can risk using an ESP, but if you get too many complaints and spam flaggings, your account will get banned.

I do this same sort of thing when I buy random mailing lists for cold view traffic.

No matter how hot/targeted any company says they are, I still work upfront and tell them " Hey, I got your name and email from so-and-so and would like to make sure that you are really interested in content about "whatever".

I've seen people use the same tactic on spam lists, as I've recommended it for use with old/cold and unknown purchased or jv lists.

Bottom line, trust no one with the dreaded spam button and abuse report link at their finger tips. It is all about getting in the clear.

What I do in these types of instances, I add the list to a mailing list database, mail the list from that listing system and have them take a cta for one of two specific actions:

1. To agree to check out my optin and add themselves.

2. To agree to opt out and never hear from me again.

Of course, this is wrapped in a unique content offer, " sharing a sample of my content, if they are curious to see if I am the one for them ", which leads to a public content page.

Most people would put an optin here for them to sign up to get the content, which is a little unethical for my taste but to each their own...as I don't want to waste time for those that would just optin for sake of doing so...they aren't interested in being on the list. It is all about the freebie.

Those people don't make me money...nor will they make much for you either.

I'm not too concerned about trying a few different ESPs to see how each works out with this list (perhaps sending 50k - 100k with each). Do you have any suggestions as to which may work best for scenarios like this?

What system do you use to send out the e-mails? Something similar to Infusionsoft, aMember?

Can anyone shed some light on what they use for this. And what is the different between aMember and aWeber?

Buy a VPS and install your own mail server - Carry out AB split testing on a few different offers, but limit your number to 1000 for the test.

As for the CAN spam, write a nice little not as if you are writing to a friend, but you sent it to the wrong recipient (this is to stop them clicking that big 'spam' button) - trust me this converts well, as people are curious and nosey.

btw how did you extracted those FB emails?
