What would you do as an admin here at BHW?

bring back the "find all posts thanked by" feature.

If we could have a status update or system to display statuses that would be cool.

"Going to Lunch"
"Out for a bit be back on the forum in a couple hours"

should add a few more

you should go lunch
you need a rest
stop reading, it is time to take action

-Open up a Logo design competition for BHW. Winner gets free Junior VIP :) .The current logo sucks and it looks very unprofessional.
-BHW Podcast. Those who want can record a podcast and post in that area. Pretty cool eh? :)

I know this suggestion may sound weird but I would work on giving people choice to receive email updates every time a thread is started in their area of expertise. This may sound but it would work like Gmail Alerts, wherein we choose to receive email alerts for things related to out expertise or desire. For instance, I am a content writer, then I would fill up the form for receiving an email every time a thread is started related to "Content Writer Wanted" or on similar lines. Those who have used Gmail alerts would easily get my point but it's extremely helpful.

Have stricter rules for JV which ensures greater safety.
Have a Separate section for list of banned members and the reason for their ban.
One last thing. I will ensure that people who apply for BST at least get a reply, if their BST has been rejected. It would be a great help.
And yeah, I will certainly work on the color of BHW because it's truly pain in the ass. IF I spend for couple of hours on the forum, then I notice burning sensation in my eyes.

Cheers :)

Personally, I think it may be a good idea for new users to be locked to a specific forum i.e New Members Discussion.

They will stay in this specific sub forum, until they have achieved a certain number of votes from full members for things such as good posts, good response or a good method.

Once they have achieved the required number of posts they will be able to post in other sections of the forums. This could eliminate people posting for just to increase post count + scams and will also improve the quality of members.

Adding strict rules for JV section, lowering junior member fees & most importantly let regular, old user having the option of creating their BST thread by paying only for the sales thread.Hope the admin will consider my proposal.

It might have been mentioned already, but I think there should be a post count and/or time limit before a newly registered member can open a thread. I personally like the time idea, as it might encourage people to search and read to find answers to their questions that have most likely been answered time and time again.

Obviously I'm not privy to the inner workings of the forum, so there might be some logistical obstacles I'm not aware of.

Thought about it a lot. Sorry everything looks perfect here :)

EDITED:
Oh yeah I have one!! I have one!!

I would let everyone use signature and remove the linking functionality for the free members (and would also moderate what they can post on their signature... I mean.. No ads if you have a free profile :) )... Alas I can't have a signature here. Feels like I am missing something :(

Saw alot of good suggestions .

Some points according to me :

- Mainly Live Chat withing forum

- Email notification when someone quotes our post

- Other color theme

- More Mods , for specific section (As i have noticed some have very low activity)

- Live Stream Page (Where All Latest Posts will be shown Live)

- Handling JV section more carefully (Like 1 who starts JV thread MODS / Admins get his / her full personal details : Name , Number , Address etc and all verified)

- I think its enough from me :)

Some real good ideas being expressed here.

Would like to see a flagging system where members can vote down shitty promotional threads, scams, useless posts etc which could then be either automatically deleted or sent to a mod for consideration when a certain negative limit is reached. This would possibly clear up the recent threads page and leave useful and fresh content for members to find.

A REWARD function for methods contributed by members that actually work and earn members money, so anyone wishing to thank the member with a small cash donation could do so. This could possibly entice more valuable content, as members with real good methods would be more willing to share them, if a cash incentive was made available to them.

A better SHITLIST function where anyone with a complaint can fill out a specified form on BHW where all the required information can be inputted and reviewed before being approved for the SHITLIST. This would stop threads in the SHITLIST that contain limited information and slanging matches between vendors and their customers.

Hey Po!

How about a "WBHW" Black Hat World Internet Radio Station?

Live weekly broadcasts, guest speakers, live interviews, etc . . .
The broadcasts could be recorded and archived for those
who missed them, so they could download them later.

Yeah . . . that would be cool! :)

"Wiz"

PS: I wouldn't want to be an Admin though. Being a
SuperMod is enough work and responsibility for me. :)
Also another epic suggestion, this could be a good way of sharing methods/knowledge and it has the potential of fun and comedy.

bring back the "find all posts thanked by" feature.

This was a great feature, but the endpoints are actually still accessible.

Find all thanked posts by user:
Code:
http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/post_thanks.php?do=findthanks&u=[USER_ID]

Find all posts thanked by user:
Code:
http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/post_thanks.php?do=findthanks_user_gave&u=[USER_ID]

Don't know the USER_ID? Just look the profile page, it's in the url. For example:
Code:
http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/members/10494-pofecker.html
So Pofecker's user id would be 10494.

I feel that the BSTs need to be better organized. There are a lot of great services offered by BHW members but they get drowned out so quickly it can be hard to find them initially, or if you're looking to do a repeat order finding the same BST can be a hassle.

+1 to this.

in addition:

1. It would be nice if we could speed up the BST approval/denial process... ~2 months it's waaay to much

2. It would be nice some sort of section/chat where we could discuss BST ideas and whether they could get accepted or not. I've myself tried PMing a couple of mods and never heard back from them regarding something like this.

3. live chat INSIDE BHW, separated by sections/chat rooms (general chat | jr vip chat | exec. VIP and above chat| and so on..)

I agree almost with every single suggestions posted previous this post. I hope most of them get implemented soon :)

I second Wiz's idea a radio station or at least some podcast about SEO, IM would be an excellent thing.

I was a fan a "mr seo's" podcast back in the days and i didn't find something as good as it was.

1. Make a theme that doesn't hurt my damned eyes. (white background, black text please)
2. Create an Ultra-VIP status (not necessarily that name) and charge $995 as a donation, every 12 months.
3. See #1.

+1 to this

I would put more people on the staff who look to the community for suggestions like you do!

I think we could all benefit from Webinars/ training. Maybe people showcasing their products or methods?

some methods look good but are sometimes difficult to follow in words, but just click when they are shown.

+1 to the gaming section/forum. I believe there was a thread created and it got a lot of support.
