I was running CS with GSA Search Engine Ranker. After about 8 hours when I went to check its progress, CS hanged (as shown in photo above). It just hangs like that.

I stopped GSA SER immediately and Captcha Sniper is still eating 44% of the resources.
No error messages, nada. I needed to use task manager to terminate it and re-launch the app.


ADDED:
Sometimes I wonder is it because GSA SER is sending too many requests to CaptchaSniper?
This happened because I was using a huge load of imported url lists.
But when GSA SER is havesting its own site slowly, CS usually doesn't hang so that often... it only happens when a huge list is being imported and CS suddenly goes into rapid solving mode.

Does the list you're importing have any SMF. There is a particular SMF captcha which seems to be causing some issues. At any rate, we've identified the culprit in the SMF case and will be blocking it moving forward. Send me an email via support so I can take a look at your situation :)

Thanks for your kind words .... CS will continue to get better and better ... Its over a year old now and has saved the industry an estimated $1.8 million dollars :)

Let CS try to solve is just that .. it wont matter which application you're using CS with, CS will try to solve unknown captchas that are the same sizes as ones that that already exist in CS.

The old menu setting that was removed was 'use captcha platform for detection'. This has to do with whether or not you are required to select individual captcha types or not. The only apps which support this are GSA SER, AMR and Sick Submitter. In addition, before this version, it had to be one OR the other. Now, you can run for example GSA SER and Scraepbox at the same time .... and the only captcha type selections that are needed will be for what Scrapebox is sending in. The ones being sent from GSA will automatically be known, so no selection of GSA captcha types is necessary.

As far as host file redirect, all this has to do with is whether or not you want CS to emulate the de-captcher.com service.

I would think its more than 1.8MM but wow.. =)
last thing, do i still have to select any captchas if i only select Let CS try to solve?
If i dont select any captchas it shows as a red screen.. red is a color of error/bad so im not sure if im doing something wrong or if i should just leave all the catcha types unchecked and let CS figure it out.
please advise whats best

Yes, you should still select captcha types for tools which dont let CS know which one its sending. :) The 1.8 milliion is just an estimate ... it could be MUCH higher than this.
 
My CS also keeps hanging after the update to X2.

It only happens in then PC with Windows 7. The other one that I have with XP is working stable.

Any ideas?

Theres no differnece between the current version and the laste version in this regards. In other words, if this one hangs on you, so would the last. At any rate, send me a support email - [email protected]. Perhaps you dont have something set up correctly or you are encountering the SMF captcha which is causing a problem. :)
 
Argh! Not a problem, but total solved was up to 98,000 was wanting to see it hit 100k! Back to 4. :) Another great update from a great piece of software which has paid for itself over and over again!! If you are reading this thread and don't have it already, I suggest that you buy it now!

So I've noticed there are a lot of definition files for this posted over at the GSA forum. Any way you can add them to the DB and then release a V2 update? I tried once to do it myself but it screwed up CS so I will never try it again unless it's done by the CS dev.

I included the ones that were available at the time in the most recent update ... I will do this again with the next update. :)

Its impossible to answer this. The success rates stated on the website and within the app itself are extremely accurate. Each captcha type has its own success rate and Nuke also uses brute force retries of 2, so virtually any captcha type being sent should be close to 100% after 3 retries.

I'm using the Solve Unknown Captcha With the hostfile redirect and have gsa using decaptcha service. Not sure what the success rate is but it's deff solving recaptcha pretty good. :) I had totally noticed it on accident and once I saw it started testing it out some more and yep it deff is.
 
installed captche sniper, .net 4.0, .net 3.5, copied licence file .... but when i click captch sniper it doesn't open. Why ?

Whenever you re-install it, you need to request a new license key. Please send the pertinent info to license[at]captchasniper.com and i'll get you set up :)
