uncheck all engines first -> settings -> just check "use captcha platform" for detection.

should i check use the csse?

when i check that... nothing happen, i mean no captcha solve on the captcha sniper.

It did show captcha on the left table but no solve attempt on the right table...

p1CTG

so.. if we only select this "use captcha platform detection" and here is the question that i want to ask...

1. we can only use CS with GSA ONLY and we can't use CS along with we running a multiple software. like using CS when running GSA, SENuke X and WikiBomber. is it right?

2. After i select "use captcha platform detection" now my wikibomber can't verify my real deathbycaptcha account. how to solve this so i can use my captcha solving account?

thanks

i thought id post this here as others are wondering the same...

in relation to using CSX with SER, i understand we have to choose 'use captcha platform detection', however what if we have added additional captchas to the CDK? do we need to select those separately?

Also, what about naming conventions for added captchas? If we add captchas from the unknown captchas folder and name them captch1.. captch2.. etc.. (as we dont know what platform they were saved from), CS would not know how to match it up to the platform from SER, correct? which brings me back to the the first Q, do we need to select them 'in addition' to the 'use captcha platform detection'? ... or can we only use 1 method or the other?

thanks guys :)

edit: also, there are a number of duplicate captchas included in the 'User Defined' section now, including:
Coppermine Photo Gallery
Coppermine Photo Gallery-login
FUDforum
FUDforum-2
Icybook
Icybook2

can u let us know if these are required for some purpose or just 'slipped through the net' and should be deleted?

Also, there are a number of 'User Defined' included captchas in CSX which have a lower solve rate (and different solve method) compared to the previous version CS + 32 additions, is there any reason for this to be this way or can/should we import the previous versions and delete the new ones?

edit2: would i be correct in assuming the 'use captcha platform detection' setting creates sub-groups of captchas to avoid the size conflicts? after a bit of testing, i have noticed that if that setting is on, captchas of the same type/size are not being detected and are rather being saved as unknown under a different group type than the one it is stored under in CS, even if individually selected (ie. Guestbook -> 'Enter word verification in box below' captcha is being saved as unknown with a title 'General Blogs-xxxxx.gif'). does it mean we should re-save it in CDK with the captcha name General Blogs?

basically just trying to get an understanding of how the new option of 'use captcha platform detection' interacts with user defined captchas and what we need to do to use both? :)

I am really having a hard time using this software... I tried almost everything but still it doesn't solve the captchas, I am using SENuke X. I even tried it using on VMware on Win XP over there the CSSE.exe wont run and give me an error Unable to find a version of run time to run this application So I googled and found a solution for that and made a file named CSSE.exe.config with this in this :
<startup>
<supportedRuntime version="v4.0.30319" />
</startup>

Still it doesn't work. I need help

I was getting all excited there in the hope that we'd seen the last of this problem, however, I installed CSX and within ten minutes of running it with GSA I got my first tesseract pop up!

I may have jumped the gun a bit. I haven't had another tesseract pop up since then. Looking good.

Happy CS user for over a year now.

Had for 2 days contact with the CS support and i must say it is still one of the best support i had in a very long time.

First mikeybobikey helped me within a hour by migrating my license to another VPS and just now he optimized the new CSX settings for my GSASER copy on that VPS.

I am very impressed with the new CSX!

Great support, its fast as hell and cracks a massive amount of captchas for me. A no-brainer if you can shell out a couple of bucks for this tool.

You get the $ back within a month...

Currently, GSA is the only app passing this parameter. CS will use either this parameter OR User selections + captcha image size. Not both. So if you MUST run all of your tools simultaneously, you'll want to not use the 'use captcha_platform for detection' setting. We will have more tools on board soon with this new parameter.

When using the new setting, 'use captcha_platform for detection' there is no need to select ANY captchas, this includes user defined ones built in CDK.

For naming conventions in CDK related to using the new parameter: the captcha type name should match exactly the same value being passed in the new parameter. This means for GSA, youll want to name name your captcha types, the same exact name as the engine name (check the engines folder in GSA for the exact names). Duplicates are fine as there are different captcha types for a single engine type .... so it will still use size detection after matching the name. This in effect allows for more than one captcha type for a single engine type.

As far as the 32 captchas that Andrei created, these are replaced by the new ones included in the app. If you find a lower success rate, it could be that I didnt test against enough samples or that one algo has a higher success rate than the other. At any rate, you can tweak these as you see fit.

edit2: no it doesnt. What you are seeing is a new type that needs to be defined for 'General Blogs'.... and it so happens that this same type is used on other platforms. So to get it to work youll just add it to CDK and copy the algo from the other one.

Also remember for GSA you will want to set your captcha retries to around 5 or 6.

No need to use CSSE with Nuke. Also, just shoot me an email at license[at]captchasniper.com and ill get you sorted.

Mickey and Andrey, can you please answer my question....

Hi guys,

CS X seems to be a perfect tool for GSA now!

Question: elgg captcha type is still not supported?

thx

elgg captchas are included in the user defined section and work well with GSA SER :)

thanks for the quick reply and info! :)

so with the new 'use captcha_platform for detection' selected, the detection happens in order of -> [captcha name parameter] -> [size detection], with all other selections ignored?

This means we should rename any/all manually created CDK captchas into the relevant engine names?

What happens if there is a size conflict within the engine sub-group? Will it cause problems or just the first match used?

The engine name parameters being passed to CSX are the same as the naming convention in the solved/unknown folders? (ie. [engine name]-xxxxxx.gif - this is very helpful by the way! :) )

One request which would be greatly appreciated i think by all that have manually added captchas, can u include a renaming option in the CDK of a future version and the option to sort by ID/Name? :)

Also remember for GSA you will want to set your captcha retries to around 5 or 6.
This is interesting, there has been some debate about how many retries to use, my personal thought was just 1 or 2 retries before using fallback option as some sites limit the amount of retries, have u had more success with the higher retries of 5 or 6?

thanks again ;)

Q1:thats the correct order, yes.

Q2:If you are using this with GSA, then yes.

Q3:First match.

Q4:Yes

Great idea on the last point.

thanks again for the info, the new additions are great! :)

one last question, is the multi-size CDK captchas (like icybook) still ok to use or should we create separate captchas for each size captcha now?

for anyone looking to change stored CDK captcha names in the meantime, there is a small freeware program called MDBPlus (http://download.cnet.com/MDB-Viewer-Plus/3000-10254_4-75285626.html) which allows u to open and edit the captchasniper.mdb file

*** MAKE SURE U MAKE A BACKUP FIRST! ***
quit out of CS first
u can find the CS database file here -> C:\Program Files\Captcha Sniper\captchasniper.mdb
access the table named tblCaptchaTypes
change the field/s named CaptchaName accordingly
close DB
restart CS
*** MAKE SURE U MAKE A BACKUP FIRST! ***

for now youll have to create seperate entries inside CDK

Hi, I'm running captcha sniper on my windows server 2008 but it says that an unknown windows program is using port 80. How can I find out which process is using the port?

Thanks
